As usual, we're on the same page. The Military is about as good as it gets in a production folder. I deal with issues of portability, concealment, and fast access on a daily basis, and once you get much over 4" in blade length, a fixed blade is easier to carry, hide, and deploy than a folder. Handle length makes the mega folders inconvenient for most pocket carries, unless you have a dedicated pocket like on Carharts, and waistband carry, with flippers and other gadget projections, can get uncomfortable. A 5" fixed will generally be lighter than a 5" folder, and with the right set up, easier to carry when wearing real casual attire such as sweats or running shorts. An FB04 (Perrin Street Bowie) is easier to carry than a Cuda Max, and one of my favorites.
