Large inkosi just announced for Bladeshow in Instagram.

So they are changing the name on the knife from the 25 to Inkosi, that is what I am getting from this in a very confusing and indirect way.

I hope not. I was under impression of a thicker knife and shorter.
Just in my head I guess.

I'm looking at my 25 & the picture of the large Inkozi. What exactly are the differences?

If it follows the pattern of the small Inkosi (speculating):

Washers with angular holes that are butted up against the stop pin
Washers have no "open" perforations not covered by blades as it rotated (less contamination)
Single sided stop pin with no notch (25 requires alignment of notch)
New groove on tang for ball lock
Angled pocket clip (single biggest upgrade IMHO.......they listened!!)

This is just my educated guess but:

I think they did this because when the 25 came out there was uproar with everyone thinking the 21 with the pivot bushing was going to be discontinued. So they realized the 21 should live on and continued sales proved that. But...they wanted to keep innovating and didn't want to just kill off the 25 so they morphed it into the Inkosi (25 with minor but needed improvements).

Sounds interesting. The "upgrade" of tilting the clip seems like positively unnecessary to me, and it looks dumb.

The rest of the knife sounds interesting. I think I'll keep my early 25 with the press fit pin though, at least for now.

I've disassembled my 25 a couple times to clean/lube it & the fitted stop pin has never been a problem. The pivot & washer assembly operates smoothly, so unless the new large Inkosi opens on voice command, I don't see me replacing my 25.

Wonder if they will keep making the Gabon ebony inlays?? Just picked up a lefty small 21 w/ Gabon ebony inlays and raindrop Damascus...

Nice! I already have a 25 with micarta inlays, but wouldn't mind picking up a large Inkosi. I couldn't find any information on price yet.
Looking forward to the new wood inlays also. I like the current offerings but haven't found one I felt I needed (at least one I could afford anyways). Maybe that will change with the new wood.

This is awesome, cool woods too!, I hope they make a inkosi with full wood inlays or at least wood inlays.

People always want what they can't get (easily) IE discontinued ANYTHING! Bart

Did anyone pick up on the last line in their Instagram post?
