Large sebenza blade wiggle problem

Is the pivot bushing in the spot where the stop pin bushing goes and vice versa? Are they swapped?

Everything is where it should be. I know for a fact its the bushing cause when you move the blade up/down you can feel a slight play not side to side but up and down play not when locked but when moving the blade up/down if that makes sense hard to explain.

If the only mods were the cosmetics and the washers, you can order new washers and pay refinish the blade. If you filed down the bushing and back spacer you will have to send in the knife so they can replace those and fit them to your knife. Resandblasting of handles is free but the blade you have to pay. I don't see why you are having up and down play. If you filed down the washers I can see why here may be very slight wiggle.

It don't have up/down play when the blade is locked I'm saying that i can feel slack in the blade when moving the blade up/down hard to explain.

Well, my small 21 has that little "play" too. Mine isn't sanded, modded and I bought it new. Do you mean that slight movement when opening the blade (after breaking the detent and before locking up) and moving/wiggling it towards opening and closing? For a second the usually hydraulic feel feels like a totally free movement.

I think that's due to pocket lint. My knife does not show that play when i freshly lubed it with the CRK grease. I took a very close look and did not notice any movement in the knife when i feel that slight play. I think its the washer spinning for 1 mm and catching up some grease out if the grease pockets in it. Maybe the grease thickens when it gets mixed with pocket lint.

How about the others? Is there no slight play when you open the blade halfway and move it like opening and closing?

i asked my buddy wthat has another micarta insigno and he don't have the slack /play and mine has is through the whole way from almost being shut to almost being open and when i move the blade slightky and paying attention the the washers they don't move one bit ao its most likely the bushing plus the bushing has black circle engraving and i can feel it catching my nail when running it against it.

Is that bushing hard to get into the blade like it's a bit hard to align it just right before it slips in?

If the "wiggle" you are talking to is perpendicular to the axis of rotation, then the pivot bushing would seem to be undersized.

yes thats what i got and robertk thinks i got blade wiggle cause i sandded the bushing down lol i saddened it down to get RID of the wiggle

out of my 3 other ssbeneza i have owned none hard these marks on the bushing completely none

The marks are probably because the pivot bushing is undersize and allowing grit to get in there and rub around..To my knowledge, they are not machined into the bushing.
Does the blade have the same marks in a similar location in the pivot?

just checked and yes it does

Here is the problem with your situation..If you want it rectified, it will either have to get sent back to CRK with a note OR someone who is competent enough to remake that bushing. The tolerance on that particular bushing is very very tight..In the neighborhood of +0.0, -.0002..And the same is probably also true of the pivot hole in the blade.

By taking sandpaper to the periphery may have taken it undersize... .0002 is small. The average human hair is .004in thick..that number is 1/20th the thickness of that average hair.

Damn ok but i didn't sand the top part of the bushing likr i stated before i sanded the side of the bushing cause i thought the washers where to thin so yeah=.. and you do you think i should get a refund? thanks

It sounds like you sanded the mating surface...the side, as you are calling it..You modified it,..by a little or alot, you have to live with that decision because I don't think anyone will refund you after you admit that that publicly.
You have 2-3 choices...1)live with it 2) send it back to CRK to fix or 3) find someone competent enough to fix it.
