I purchased a Battle Bowie from Larry Harley several years ago and wasn't happy with the finish, so I returned it. It's been years now and I still haven't recieved a knife or refund. I reckon I've waited long enough.
I'm saddened to have to complain on a public forum but I ain't rich and feel he should make it right.

Not sure about the hall of shame at this point. Let's move this over to GB&U for now.

Years is way too long. I would like to think Harley will step in and do what he can to make things right.

He has a website with contact information and a phone number last time I looked. Have you emailed AND called him also? What did he tell you if you did contact him and what kind of commitment did he give you?

Time passes faster the older I get, it seems. Last contact i had with Mr. Harley was approx. three years ago. He had some health problems and was trying to catch up. I can understand that but believe I've been more than patient. I reckon he was in a tough spot, but I'd appreciate it if he made this right.

You didn't answer the question.

Did you currently call Larry Harley and ask the status?

I know he WAS in poor health. I hope that's better. No excuses for this, I understand, but some knifemakers often need polite prodding.

Well Sir, What really got me going was a recent advertising type e-mail from his website.
I responded with an e-mail of my own stating that I'd just like the knife due me. Didn't hear back.

ok so here goes

when i did the chemo
i took money i shouldnt have
but i had to or loos everything!!!!
that in its self put me behind the 8 ball
i never stoped takeing deposits and money the whole yr i did chemo
add that to orders from guys in the service that i feel obligated to do first and then i gotta have something comeing in so i can stay in business and go to krogers
and oh yes i give a mil discount so that stuff dont bring in as much
then a abces on my kidney from a kidney stone
then a hernia operation
and a yr later
a TESTICULAR operation removeing whats called a hydrosciel (sp)
recovery time for both which was longer than expected
which i dont think i will ever be as i was
i used to could sleep where that 500 lb canarie sleeps
but i,m soooooooooooo stiff now
and get wore out easly
so here i set
i do it in order
#1 any mil order i got
#2 making a free knife (already paid for)
#3 knife for money
another "free knife"
etc
etc
etc
and there u have it thats how u get soooo far behind
working and still makeing nothing
or very little
ch46
i,m truely sorry for the delay
and i know that my problems are really of no ones concern but me
and i hate that my ox has gored u
but rest assured ive been n this business full time for 30 yrs
ive never stiffed anyone EVER
ask around
u will get yours unless a meteor falls from the sky on my head
THIS IS ABOUT ALL I CAN SAY
i hope u take my apologey

Well Sir, Your post means alot to me. I served with some good old-fashioned Southerners in the Marines, and their word is as good as a contract. The money spent isn't as important to me as the agreement between two men.
When I look at all the knives out there, its your double-edged Battle Blade that I picture in my hand to finish up a hog.
I'm sending prayers out for your improving health. Please stay in touch:

thanks
i wont disappoint u
the only thing we have in life is our name!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
everything else is transitory

Larry, I hope you are feeling better.

I certainly know first hand how one's health can cause major financial woes, been there and done that. It happens here often also where someone owes someone a knife, money or both and cannot get in touch with the other party. The person ends up here in GB&U voicing their concerns and complaints and then someone else who knows the person posts that the person doing the owing has health issues. The person owed in most cases never get what's owed because the person with the health issues never shows up again or shows up a million years later and claims they have been coughing pus and fecal matter and the Doctors ordered him to stay in bed. Then the person disappears and the person owed remains the person owed

YOU stepped up to the plate, with every intention of making things right and thats KEWL!!!!!

Oh, and stay healthy will ya..................

do u know why the chicken doing chemo crossed the road??

he didnt
he was too tired
there was way to much traffic
so he took a map on this side:)

You know why your sack was big and red?.........................Chemo:(
Know why santa's is big and red?.......................cause he IS Santa silly!!!:D:p:D

Still nothing. Nada. Zip.
Knife, Please.

CH46, sorry to hear of your plight....keep at it....and I suggest doing everything you can do to reach Mr. Harley....leave messages, e-mails, voicemails.

Keep bumping this up.....while sickness is certainly an unavoidable reality, so is the expectation to get something you paid for.

Best Regards,

STeven Garsson

Mr Garsson, that is a great statement.Appreciate the way you have put the words together..

Thanks folks, I appreciate your comments.
This has been nagging at me for some time. Just want my knife.

Still no knife. I was going to wait a month then report back but this is really beginning to bug me.
No contact from Mr. Harley, outside from his response on this thread. :jerkit:
Any of y'all doing business with him? If so, hows that going?
It burns my butt to lose that much money but I can think of no legal recourse at this point.
