Still no knife. I was going to wait a month then report back but this is really beginning to bug me.
No contact from Mr. Harley, outside from his response on this thread. :jerkit:
Any of y'all doing business with him? If so, hows that going?
It burns my butt to lose that much money but I can think of no legal recourse at this point.

He posts on Facebook Daily, in fact he posts multiple times daily...

Tell him Mike Snody said Hello...

Well Sir, I appreciate the info., but I don't really want to chat with the man. Only thing I want to hear is that my knife is done and heading my way. Weeks is bad, months absurd and years a plain rip-off.
Hundreds of dollars right down the crapper.

I don't think that posting here is going to be much help, since the last time he seems to have logged onto his BladeForums account was the day he replied to you. The Facebook page might be your best option at this point.

Hello,
Well in reading this thread I thought I would throw in my two bits. Larry has had one knife I sent back that had issues for over two years. It was his suggestion for me to return it. I also ordered a large model Battle Bowie. I do understand that he has been ill and I hate to keep bothering him. Last December I got a very rare email from him telling me that he was starting my knives. Since my first calls when I ordered the knife, I keep missing him. Today he was at the store and I was told their computer was down. I can certainly understand that as mine died yesterday. But even then he usually doesn't return my emails. I purchased the first smaller bowie as a duty knife, but even that hasn't gotten much movement in its correction. I'm at the point of asking that he return the first bowie and sheath so I can sell it at a loss.

It's a good option to keep the public aware that Mr. Harley has issues regarding money and knife delivery, don't you think?

Best Regards,

Sure, but I think the OP's main concern is getting his knife or money, not doing a PSA :)

The shame of it is that Mr. Harley always had a good name as a maker. I remember him from all the way back in the days of rec.knives.

I haven't lost all hope that Mr. Harley will eventually do the right thing.
You can't stick a hog with hope.

If its been several years seems to me you either need to pay him a visit or call the authorities.

Funny how folks on the net will just throw things out there.
I'm not spending the time/money to round trip from Dallas to Hogwallop, Tennesee. I doubt the authorities there would care about this issue.
At this point its simply a matter of honor. I am unaware of any legal recourse in this matter, other than going out there and suing in small claims court. I may have the money order receipt around here somewhere, but probably not.

Quote- #2 making a free knife (already paid for)-end quote

I like how he called it a freebie because it's a knife that's already been paid for.

My bad, I was under the impression the maker was also based in Texas. As for the authorities, I'm not entirely up on your laws but isn't there a case for mail fraud if you paid by money order?

I think Mr. Harley has his priorities all wrong.
It certainly is very commendable to put servicemen first, IF you don't owe knives/money to regular folks. If you do, those knives come first, because it is a debt outstanding.
Yeah, that thing about the freebie knife was hilarious, except maybe to those who have actually paid for one of those freebies a few years back...

Well, Another month has gone by and no knife or contact from Larry Harley.
This should be moved to The Hall of Shame. I sent my knife to him expecting it to be fixed or replaced. He's done neither.
Its been frigging YEARS now. I'm going to post this on every forum I belong to. This is BS.

Yup, sounds like this might be ripe for the hall of shame.

Being sick sucks but it is not an excuse to NEVER make things right.

i looked at the pic of the fellow with the name tag reading Larry Harley,..i found it very curious...i've seen and known a lot of folks that have or have had cancer,,,the one thing they all have in common is...they are skinny...

Well, so far fruitcop and I have taken a screwing. Anybody else a victim of this mans business practices?

my bad experience dates back to last century and not close to the turn of it either. it is almost lost to memory it is only this thread that has brought it up
