Well since I said baad things, I should report what is going right.
As you may have read, I gave up on getting my knife back several years ago. Out of the blue last week I got an email from Larry Harley. He said my knife was ready to return. So today I received my repaired knife. Actually since I don't think the first one could be adjusted properly, I think this is a new knife. It is up to the standards of his old work. A very nice knife indeed. So I want to publicly say thanks.

Howdy Robert. I've been corresponding with Mr. Harley recently ref. receiving a Battle Bowie owed to me. Should receive it soon.
I'm extremely pleased that he is able to make it out to his shop and get some work done. I know it is extremely difficult with his ongoing medical condition.
That he is using what energy he can summon to make things right says alot for the man, IMO.
I received a Battle Bowie from Mr. Harley yesterday. Top notch work.
It pleases me that Larry is working on getting square with folks. It has to be hell for him in the shop with his breathing issues.
I'll buy another BB for my son soon. He's also offering a interesting skinner.

Why not let him catch up on his orders first- he shouldn't take any new orders until those who have been waiting are all taken care of.

itll have to be a battle bowie my son makes and the "lil pricks" are made by him too. i made the first one 30 yrs ago. it not really a skinner. ive always called it a meat knife after that deer etc is down its like taking it apart w a lazier
i have retired and applied for disability.cant work but an hr or so. when im finish my back log i,m done...................................................

Maybe nobody noticed but businesses are filing for bankruptcy every single day in this economy. Larry could have just closed the shop and said forget about it. Instead he is hammering as much as he can and probably will till the day he dies.
I went back and read it again. Look at the part where Larry says "I took money I shouldn't have". Sorry he had or has cancer, but a thief is a thief. He may be your BFF Bubbanumber, but he's still not an honorable man.

It appears the "man" as you call him admits to being a theif in the first sentance of this EXCUSE.
So he took money to keep his piss-poor business from going under all the while not having any real expectations of delivering products to the folks he was "taking" money from.
The way this reads to me:
I stole money from folks to save my ass.
I like to bitch and complain about my personal problems.
I stole more money from folks and now owe them a "free" knife.
More bitching about personal problems.
This whole post from your friend was not an apology or public intent to do the right thing, it was more of a pitty party aimed at getting more people to fall for his BS.
You keep calling him a man... A man, a REAL man would own up to what he has done here and sell his house and all his tools to payback all the fine folks he has stolen from.

In all fairness, I think it's an older video. The guy posted that video in Sept. 2009, so it's probably somewhat older than that. It's not current, is what I'm saying. I still think he's a crook, though.

i did the chemo then had an operation every yr for the next 4 yrs and they all had months of complications .After every one i thought id get to go back to work soon after plus much more that i dont want to get into here.
i have missed a few of u this got long fast so last but not least i wanna thank mike snotty(Snoddy) for being such a boosteranjd piler on so up yours snoddy

I'm going to get the last word in this thread for a few reasons. First, because I think it's gone far enough and to cut it off before more unfortunate things are said.
For those reasons alone, I think we can call it a day.
(If anyone needs to address Larry Harley and his knives or orders they can open a new thread. However, let's try to keep it from repeating what has happened here.)
In years past I've had the pleasure of meeting Larry and even drinking some 'shine with him that he brought to the Blade Show. We haven't kept up and mostly I've just been in touch with him to admonish him over one or another of the forum rules that weren't adhered to. (No blood spilled over it on either side.)
I also know (from the forums) some of the other good people involved in this thread...members, moderators etc. Good folks, all of them.
I haven't kept up with this thread nor was I aware of what Larry has recently gone through. I say let's put the ugliness aside and move forward with respect in both directions.
Anyone feeling the need to can feel free to address me directly via email or PM.
