so ive read all my detractors
heres where i am
after that yr of chemo i thought id be able to jump up and go back to worlk
i took money w the thought in the back of my mind that id be able to get stuff out-a -the door pretrty quick
but
i had to have a hydrociel removed
then
3 hernia operations
then this grinders lung
( i cant walk up the steps w/out seting down)
and i can defeat my respirator anylonger
i hope to buy a forced air respirator
the docs wabt to give me 4 back operations to re insert torn ligiments
because of the chemo the insertions on my muscles r not right
when i stand my back feels like i got metal bones the need oiling
that along w/artheritis in my joints ant fun
i need a heel operation and a knee operation too
i really hate whats happened w my business
in this business customers become friends
i guess i coulda had folks grind blades for me but would anybody want my knife ground by someone else
this whole time ive keep thinking i could go to work soon but it jsust ant happened

Larry, I'll be brief and to the point.

Right around three years ago, you and I engaged in a back and forth with your defense of the ABS, who at that time were helping you with money, so you wouldn't starve. Couple knifemaker friends of mine swore that you committed career suicide at that time, talking smack to Ed Fowler and such. Anyone who wants to do a search should be able to find it, was November 2007.

You have taken money from people for work that you have not done, and are not going to be able to do for some time.

Contrition may be called for instead of defiance....you have done the majority of this to yourself. If you want to beat up the bad guy, look at yourself in the mirror.

Your reputation is in the toilet....you put it there.

You posted almost this exact same thing back in April of last year. Since then, you've not refunded/reimbursed anybody for anything, and you continue to take orders.

Where in the hell do you get the idea that your rep is sterling? It's not.

But they kept their word, paid who and what they have owed and never took anything that did not belong to them.

I don't believe I have ever had a con man tell me to kiss his a_ _ before.

As a retired US Naval Officer I have dealt with thousands of individuals over the years. A few were truly great men, most were good men, some were not very good men, and a handful that were positively evil men. As such I became a pretty good judge of character.

I am not a huge believer in making judgments based on what a man tells me. I believe a man's record speaks for itself and tells us who he is.

I don't wish ill health on anyone. We all have had or will have health problems in our lives. Sometimes problems end our careers. It's a part of life for most everyone. Poor health is not an indicator of one's character, either good or bad.

Taking a man's money and not providing the contracted for service or product for whatever reason is a bad thing. To break off communication shows you feel no obligation to yourself or to your customer to fulfill your responsibility. I believe the real kicker is IF you are continuing to accept orders and monies to this day.

We build prisons for people that do things like that. I know if I were one of the damaged parties here I would be in contact with the Attorney General's Office in Tennessee. I have no idea what Tennessee law is in this situation but you can bet they have some that applies here.

I don't believe I have ever seen anyone (save for a few small children) display a feeling of entitlement to others property at this level before. I have a distinct feeling that your health problems, real or imagined, are a sterling example of karma.

You have taken money for knives you CAN'T make or deliver.

You have taken BACK knives you CAN'T repair.

You have taken orders on knives you are NOT CAPABLE of making.

that is not how I or anyone I know would define a sterling rep. The first 2 make you a criminal. The last one just makes you a horses ass. (no offense to horses asses)

You have money for knives ordered over three years ago. You have knives that have needed repair or replacement for over 3 years.

Why are you taking new orders if you can't do anything right now? We spoke through email a few months back and you told me 3-6 months. And why are you taking orders on new knives when you can't even keep up with the old ones?

I believe that you're going to find that your little retarded rant was a bigger mistake than stealing my knife in the first place. I'm going to persue every avenue I can to let EVERYONE know about your thefts. Dealers, knife organizations and societies, any potential "Customers". I'll be contacting law enforcement @ the US Postal Service and Tennesee state attorneys office.
If I can find a friendly ear at the courthouse in your little burg, I'll seek a lien against your property.

I understand illness and frustration, and debts owed. This situation is bad for ALL involved.
I'm going to send you my mailing address and hope for the best.
I wasn't kidding when I wrote that the Larry Harley Battle Bowie is what I want in hand when I have the opportunity to stick a hog. I'll be looking for one on the aftermarket. If I eventually get mine back, thats all good and may help get your reputation back on track.

Believing a man who has ruined his own reputation, lies, steals and cheats his friends would be silly. It's time to photocopy this thread and hand deliver it to the local Prosecutor.

My Lord, this guy has gone from great guy with great reputation to common thieffor one reason; greed.

Blaming criminal conduct on health issues is bull crap.
 
I'm pretty much done with this thread. All that needs said, has been. If I receive my knife back I'll report it here.
Hope you other folks get the knives/money due you.
Also hoping Larry Harley regains his health and good name.
 
Gents (and ladies if it applies in this thread),

I have recently returned from a long absence from this overall forum. A post on another maker brought me here and my interest in the Battle Bowie drew my attention to this thread. Now most of you don't know me but here's my observation with this thread.

We are all adults and this thread has gotten completely out of hand.

If you are not personally involved in the situation, then you should read and stay silent unless you have genuine input, ie information to help resolve the issue.

Stop the mud slinging folks. Name calling is petty. Again, we're all adults. And the whole "don't insult members" thing, that applies to MEMBERS. not simply mbers in good standing. State your case simply. Name calling is immature and uncalled for.

Mods, why are we engaging in baited arguments with other members who post thinly veiled threats? Folks, i am neither a saint nor perfect, but we should be better than this.

That being said, I am glad to have found this thread because I am interested in getting a Battle Bowie and I now know to wait and see how Mr. Harley does with turning his business practices around.

That being said, I will continue to observe this thread but, not being personally involved (shorted on money or a knife) I will not continue to post. You know, the whole "follow your own advice" thing.

Go ahead and contact him...send him your money. He has a waiti list of 3-4 months for current orders :)

As far as the rest, I wouldn't call it mudslinging, I would call it "calling someone out on criminal behavior".
 
Any advise ref. seeking a legal remedy and/or criminal charges sure would be appreciated. So far I haven't been able to find my USPS money order receipt.
I've a feeling the money issue will be like trying to get blood from a stone.
