Las Vegas are knife makers

Hello:

Salt pots? Man thatis something that even I am not crazy enough to mess with... I cringe at my nitre baths for blueing and austempering...but 1500 plus degree salts in the amount that I would need...no thank you...not for this child.

It's bad enough that I alloy my own bronze and German silver, and make my own steels but that I do outside...

Good luck to you and I hope you play it more than safe 100% of the time...that stuff is NASTY if you don't...

WOW Jimmy! That is sweet!

I was in Amarillo last week for a funeral. COLD out that way (compared to here I guess) so take your coat!
I won't be back in town for two more weeks. After that we will have to all get together sometime for sure. How is that knife you had started a few weeks back?

I havn't had time to work on it with moving and working an outage. two more outages to go before march and I still have to move the rest of my shop from lubbock to here. This paycheck alone I already have 56 hours overtime. The paychecks are nice but I really would appreciate a day off. Plus anything over 32 hours of overtime I get put in a tax bracket that lowers my wage to less than minimum wage. No fun.

Sorry to hear about the work issues....I got some of 'em too....but that is usually when my wife tells me me to shut up and remember how lucky I am to have one. She's right....I 've got some friends in a very tough way right now.

Hey, I would sure like to watch over your shoulder as you put the handle on that knife you were working on. I am high centered on the rest of the process. I have a couple knives to that point right now and I'm balking on the next move(s).....

John, good to hear from you.

I had the DVD for about a week and passed it on. I thought you had it back a long time ago. I'll get it and get it back to you as soon as I get home. I have been on the road for all but two weeks of the last two months! In Boston now til the 14th. I have met some knifemakers on the travels though.....gonna make a thread on it soon I think.

How is everyone? After you guys get back from Blade show we need to have another get together. Met a few new makers in town and would like to introduce them to other knife nuts.

Im local and looking to take the plunge into knife making. Any new info or anyone willing to let a newb learn a thing or two?
I wamt to learn from the ground up, bought a few books, and just looking to pick some expert mind and see hownits done in person.. Im a LEO so eventually id like to lean toward the tactical knives eventually but im wanna learn the basics first so anyone let me know if anything is in the works!
