Las Vegas are knife makers

I am a newbee, I have only put a couple sets of scales on blades.

I would like to meet others interested in knifemaking.

Let me know of any get togethers.

Hello!!

Just wondering of anything new is going on in the "get together department"..

Work has me really busy but I went over to Dr Jim's a couple days back..he is busy welding up swords and his usual insane antics in this heat.. It musta been over 130 in his shop the other day...He just laughed and said "if ya can't take the heat get away from the forge"...shook his head and mumbled something under his breath about "grumble grumble kids"...

So is anyone planning on doing another get together??

Any given Friday night would work for me.

Yup , sure is hot in the shop here as well. Got about 6 hours in yesterday and 5 today... great way to lose weight ;)
 
I could possibly make that. I'm a newbie as well. Mostly putting on scales and ground a few blades that need to be heat treated.
 
I can make friday evening after 6:30 or anytime between saturday to thursday do to my insane work schedule.
 
I would love to, but it looks like a quick over-nighter to San Diego with the Family trumps my knife meet. Let me know how it goes and all my best to you all. I would sure like to link up with you guys on one soon after the last one went so well. Fridays are generally great for me also, but most of my Fridays are spoken for until October (I will be gone for all of September). If it changes for some reason to a Sat. in the next couple weeks then that may work for me...otherwise I will see you in the fall..:)

John, please don't wait on me. I'm pulling my hair out (and you know it must be bad cause I don't have much to spare:)) because I have been informed it will be a two nighter for a day of shopping on the way back. I guess I owe it to them so I'm gonna be a good DAD and "smile and wave". Hence, I'm not sure when Ill be back on Saturday. You guys go ahead and meet up with all that can, if we always wait on someone we'll never get together at all. I could probably make next Saturday if it goes that way anyway, but don't move it back just for me. (Just let me know how it goes:))

Ok guys, after conferring with Mr. Wylie we will be holding the second get together at my house on Saturday August 15th between 6:30 and 7:00 PM. Bring your wares, cameras, collections and whatever. If you are interested in coming PM me for my address.
The only change to this is if I have to work and then it will be switched to John's house. However, the date will not move. Let's make it a good one. :thumbup:

Bring blades ! Customs , productions , semi-customs , whatever you got..heck I should bring my bow too ;) . I will do my best to have at least ONE knife finished by then... I have 5 done now , but hoping they are long sold by then.

I will bring some chips & salsa or something bro.
 
I didn't realize it wasn't this weekend. Next weekend I have to work. Monday I'm signing a lease on a place out in henderson that comes with a decent shop already wired with 220. So a couple of months after that I should be able to get my entire shop out of storage and up here.

Anybody know the area around 95 and that american shooters gun range? That's where it is going to be at.
 
the area between 95 and american shooters is a pretty big area... is it east or west of Boulder Highway ?

I am right in that area just off the end of water street.
