Laser Strike Mk 2 countdown!

I came over here from the big AR forum. Talk about a 180 in philosophy. My wife will be begging me to buy a Laser Strike compared to the other goodies I could be spending the money on. If I get a new knife to go build free shelters, traps and fires with, I’m not at home planning my next AR build. :D She might have married me, but she ain’t dumb! No Jeff, you can’t have pics. :D

Ahh, but the key point you made is "they work for me" Screw being cool, dude. Use what works. I can't tell you how many "tactical" training events I've been to and literally laughed my as off at all the cool guy stuff on the ARs and all the cool tactical clothing and tough talk. It is ALL bullshit. Every damn bit of it. The only reason I ever go is to shoot photos for most of the ego driven fools that want to see how pretty they look in their gear. Also, sometimes they bring some pretty good looking wives so I spend more time hitting on their wives than ever trying to learn some bullshit tactic. I have my priorities in order. Bring on the white women and the hamburgers and now we're talking real-deal shit!

I Take it your a Great E&E Teacher :D being your in pursuit of their Females & Food :p

You got it. I do indeed know how to escape and evade jealous husbands...sometimes with their women in tow.

sometimes it is harder to get away from the crazy women...kinda makes you want to call the husband to come get em....:D

Probably nothing. But get real. What can any of our blades do that I can't do with a 15 dollar machete? Man, this whole industry is about 99 percent bullshit. We don't need all these knives.

THIS IS AWESOME!

I don't do much in the way of adventure or training heheheh, but I may just have to buy one of your knives simply because of THIS, though it may really wind up sitting in a nice dry 'survival' pack that never leaves my office.

Oh and I heard around the fire that Eric Prince and RYP took all the HEST money and fled the country with it to spend it on women. (no...not true at all, but I was let down by the lack of theories in the other thread)

We simply sell knives becasue people buy knives. But to tell anyone that our knives are exactly what you need to survive, kill, whatever would be total and complete bullshit....

...We simply make and sell knives because people like us like to buy them but if you want to survive then learn the skills first. Then you might find that 15 dollar machete is really all you need.

I'm not sure I've ever heard it spelled out quite so plainly. Thanks for reminding us that this is, after all, a hobby for most of us. That's not to say I don't spend a bit of time in the woods, and I must admit I appreciate a robust blade 'just in case'.

It's this no-nonsense attitude that made me take notice of the ESEE knife line to begin with, and will ensure that I keep stopping by the forum, and probably spending at least a little bit more of my money on ESEE knives and other goodies.

And thanks for admonition that it's really what we have between our ears that will save our skins if we find ourselves in a tight spot.

what would be Funny ; being it was on the cover of TK Sept.2001 is if it was on the Cover of TK Sept 2011

They better hurry then. Because last month's issue of TK was the March 2011 issue. Using TK's date philosophy, the Sept. 2011 issue will probably be out in Feb. 2011.:D

I don't care what Jeff says. I want a new version of the Laser Strike because I know it will make me a real deal knife fighter and a hardcore survival whiz. I'll probably have a TV show on the Discovery channel within weeks of purchasing one.

Damn , I got that issue of TK and now another knife seed is planted in my head again. And Esee/ Rowan's gonna make it? Come on , how the heck are we gonna resist that?
I guess I better pick up an extra Rowan made Hest before they all disappear also!

Holy crap 4 friggin pages already.................yeah I would say there is a market for it.

eotech...he/they did skimp on the optics otherwise it would be an aimpoint  okay, putting on my flame suit :p

Uhh excuse me?! ;)

Glad to hear about the LS.

Could someone tell me why the spine is kind or raised up on the handle? Looks like itd be awfully uncomfortable to hold to me.

Second, are yall really discoing the HEST?

Interesting thread. I'm sorta new to ESEE knives and have never heard of or seen the Laser Strike. Seems more akin to a bushcraft style knife which is exactly what I'm currently searching for. Since I'm new and only own 1 ESEE knife, my input will probably not mean much and that's ok. I'm in agreement with JV3 on what I would like to see from ESEE.

honestly i'd like to see a "bushcraft" type knife from esee - ~4" blade, no choil, rounded handle (on the side instead of flat), scandi grind...think of ray mears' knife with esee's affordable price.

I hope it's ok to post another knife here, but perhaps something like this

Or in keeping with ESEE's grind style, something like this

What can this new knife add to your line-up that isn't already covered by the ESEE3 through 5?

Personally, I like a 5 inch blade on a survival knife and as a professional Ye Olde Time Strongman the weight of the Esee 5 is a non issue for me. However, it is definitely an issue for my sub 120lb wife. So for us, what does this new knife add to the line-up? A 5 inch survival knife that my wife can actually fit her hand around and use.

And Jeff, if I promise to post pictures of my wife with the Laser Strike, will it get made any quicker?

I know there will be a market for the laser strike. But my question is why bring back an old knife when you just lost your only folder from your line up in the hest. If you have free time to make another fixed blade, do you not have free time to make your original folder idea the Izula folder?

Two different beasts. Fixturing and tooling for a folder and its components is a lot more invoved than building a fixed blade. Rowen will be making an ESEE folder. There is no doubt about that but we will do it when we have our ducks in a row. Besides, ARS is already looking at doing a folder for us - Made in the USA.
