Laser Strike Mk 2 countdown!

Interesting thread. I'm sorta new to ESEE knives and have never heard of or seen the Laser Strike. Seems more akin to a bushcraft style knife which is exactly what I'm currently searching for. Since I'm new and only own 1 ESEE knife, my input will probably not mean much and that's ok. I'm in agreement with JV3 on what I would like to see from ESEE.

I hope it's ok to post another knife here, but perhaps something like this

Mtn Dude, your input means as much as anyone around here. This isn’t a Monopoly “collect them all” group. Sure, many of us are gear whores but we’re about skill set for most part. Very survival and self-reliance oriented group for the most part. Welcome!

I would love to see an ESEE version of either of those knives you posted, two of my favorite designs!

Rowen will be making an ESEE folder. There is no doubt about that but we will do it when we have our ducks in a row. Besides, ARS is already looking at doing a folder for us - Made in the USA.

This is what excites me most, the fact there could possibly be TWO ESEE folders!!!

Two different beasts. Fixturing and tooling for a folder and its components is a lot more invoved than building a fixed blade. Rowen will be making an ESEE folder. I can see that fixturing and tooling would be differnet. But why can a Hest folder be made in less than 6 months? And you said you had a licensing agreement back in may for the Izula folder lock. How come you were able to get your ducks in row for the Hest in a short period of time but can't do it for the Izula. You had the lock design on the Izula in place in before you announced the Hest but somehow the Hest was made and still no Izula.

Maybe because there were/are things to tend to other than the Izula/ESEE Folder...both at ESEE and Rowen...

...just my WAG...

What?
you mean the izzy 2, new pack kits, backpacks, importation issues, starting up a new company to make the soft goods in the US, clip points, the new wallet kit, Rowen having to take some time to tool up and produce the Ritter/Becker collab, all the behind the scenes stuff to help DPx take off on its own, etc...?
you think it's reasonable to move back development on the izzy folder just for that stuff?
wow. I thought these guys were supposed to be able to multi-task...

Simple, Rowen is not making the HEST Folder. It is being made overseas. Any ESEE knife will be USA made and Rowen will have to tool for a folder. Lion Steel is already setup to make folders. Real simple.

dammit Jeff!
quit being logical/sensible!
blame it on the Keebler Elves!

It's funny how logic simply doesn't seem to exist around here sometimes, and this is the most logical forum on BFs!

Bullshit. You've been oogling white women and eating hamburgers. We know how it really is :)

No crap. How hard is it to make an Izula folder. Take an Izula, cut it in half, insert a pin in the middle, done! That's how it works right? :D

Making it is the easy part. Writing the warranty's the hard part!

I thought explaining to Mrs S that it wont come in orange is the hard part...is is that dangerous? This thread is making me want to grill something....mmmmm burgers and beer....

Jeff,

Have you gotten a hold of that 0001 LS for a spec check? I'm looking forward to seeing what this thing is about. Actually I'm kinda not. I'm afraid that, as Tony said, it'll wind up replacing my 4, which I am really loving. Looking forward to hearing about this project as it moves forward.

God bless,
Adam
