Last knife that bit you?

10" Chef's knife by Kershaw. But the truth is that I usually fool around with a new knife until I end up cutting myself with it. Suddenly I remember to be careful with edged tools as I ask my wife for a band-aid or medical tape. Happens every time I get a new knife. At this point, I don't really consider a knife to be broken in until I cut myself with it.

Kershaw black ram. Was cutting a box up making a piecing motion and didn't tuck my other hand's ring finger up enough. The tip bout sliced the end of my finger off. Just felt like someone tapped me, but the blood went all over. It was on the breakfast bars, the laptop, the dishwasher, the floor, the garbage can, my kids sippie. Wth! lol

An older German slipjoint that I inherited from my Grandpa. I just put a nice razor sharp edge on it with my sharpmaker. I started to clean the blade with an old doubled up t-shirt when this old slippy zipped right through both layers of t-shirt, and into my thumb. I didn't feel it either. That blade is so thin and gets so sharp it's like a scalpel:eek: I love that little slippy, it was love at first bite:D

I grabbed a Coldsteel Pocket Bushman off the web a few weeks back. It is a really strong really sharp knife. It is very peculiar though. While I was trying to flick it open, which is impossible, the damn thing snapped shut on my index finger. It was a deep cut but it healed shut in 2 days because the cut was so clean.

The lock pinched my pinky a few times too. Be very cautious when handling this beastly blade.

Busse NMFBM. I was drunk as hell and decide to show off my Busse's cutting capabilities. Then I started cutting some beer cans in half-- which was a pretty darn easy task. But suddenly I missed the 'target' and almost chopped my index finger off instead... After bleeding half a gallon blood in my friends living room, they drove me to the emergency room. Got 4 stitches, a swollen hand and a pain that just won't go away no matter what I drink...

Boker Whittler.. she bite me twice. The first one was when I cut up an apple in my hand (will never do that again..) right after I touch up the blade and test it to whittle hair (being challenged by hair whittling thread in this forum), she slice my little finger deep enough.

10 minutes ago, just now trying to type with throbbing left index finger. I was whittling on a spoon with my Breeden kat knife. Digging out the hollow with tip which is sometimes a bit tricky. Slipped and stuck the point right behind the knuckle. Weird thing about finger cuts is they never really hurt - just bleed like crazy.

slid out from under my non adjustable steering wheel going to a gun store, halo type auto went off in my pocket, didn't notice it until I put my hand in to my pocket, ouch, had fun closeing it.

Opinel number 8....just closed it over the tip of my little finger...factory edge barely broke the skin. :D

My 'Dog bit me good. My Junkyard Dog II that is!

A few months back I was using my JYD II to peel off a UPS Label on a box, and the knife slipped off of the label. Next thing I know, the my left index finger is fileted open; blood everywhere. Cleaned it up real good, but still got infected, and I sustained some nerve damage, as it still hurts when I hit it against something.

spyderfly... that balisong is too damn sharp for its own good!

Eh when you do ariels, it's expected. No pain no gain baby.

Opinel #12. Just sharpened. Cutting improperly. Nice clean cut accross the top on my index finger.

Busse FBMLE. I had not gotten a sheath for it yet. Walking up the stairs (barefoot of course). I lost my grip on the knife. It hit the stairs and started sliding down toward my feet. My instinct was to just let it go, but it was not moving fast at all, and it was going toward my feet, so I reached out to snag it by the handle. Right before I closed my fingers around the handle it did a roll and flipped over. Ouch.

Worse, the old shaky handed doctor could not keep his hands still enough to numb it. He kept missing the cut and poking it through the finger before pushing the plunger. Then he just said "oh well, I'll just stitch it up without anything. Then instead of having my hand rested on the tray, or his hands rested on anything he made me hold my hand up in the air, while he tried to stitch it with his hands up in the air above my hand (those shaky old hands). It hurt a bit, and about 1/2 of the stitch attempts he missed the the cut entirely. Several times he stitched only one half of the wound. I figured it would be about 8-10 small tight stitches (just from experience). He ended up only getting 4 successful stitches. They pulled out a couple of days later because there were not enough, and they were not far enough from the edges of the cut.

I just finished cleaning my Buck 105, it slipped and got me on the left inside index finger. Not a big deal but it is in the crease and every time I bend it...well you get the idea.

Syderco Karambit on my little finger... my fault, just a bad control when playint at work :p

Ha, just last night I sliced my thumb with a Spyderco Native trying to feel for chips I thought were on the edge. Won't be doing that again.

My Fallkniven A1. Up at a friend's cabin. Steaks for dinner. I decided to see how my A1 would serve as a steak knife. (Pretty well, tho kinda large for the job :p.) After dinner, drying it off with a paper towel after washing it, allowed myself to become distracted by the conversation going on as I was wiping lengthwise along the edge... One friend at the table actually frowned and said "Ouch!" before I even felt it--it went through the paper towels and into my thumb that easily and cleanly. Wasn't too bad. Mainly mostly like a really deep, nasty paper cut.

That's the second time I've done something like that with a knife. First time was with my Delica 4, IIRC. You'd have thought I'd have learned from the first time, wouldn't you?

I was hoping to see a few more pictures of the carnage!!! :D

My last bite was from my Kabar Next Generation. Damn serations are sharp!!

I nicked the tip of my pinky three times in the first week of getting used to the back lock on my Native... I never thought I'd like this type of lock, but I'm very fond of it. I especially like the in-handle retention of the blade... but it took a lil' gettin' used to!

I was making a Kydex sheath for my FFBM in blue Kydex. I was test fitting it and hadn't put the rivets in yet I yanked hard and the blade slid out of the seam and slit my finger.
