Lemons: BK-16 Mod Discussion and Ideas : Completed Photo's

Very cool thread - I've been working up a reverse tanto-ish design, kinda like the blade on a BM 550 only more 16 size - but I've been starting from scratch with the handle. Maybe I'll see if I can work it into the 16 itself.
I'm really digging that "long clip" fly. That does look "wicked awesome".
 
I really like Derek's/Dub's sheepsfoot 14.
I was thinking of trailing-pointing an 11 to make a matched camp cooking set (with a 15 and 5.)
But since I don't have those yet, maybe I should try that first. Could be a super-handy slicer of things.

As for your 16, the bottom wharncliffe one (maintining some curve) but without the thumb groove gets my vote.
I like the long clip, too - very pretty. But you may as well trade on of your "defective" 16's for a 15.

I think I like yours better :) I started my clip line at the end of the gimping and originally brought it down to the center line... BUT it just looked kinda funky. Yours has a better balance IMO because I brought the tip a shy bit high of center. Either way I am liking the long clip idea alongside the Dozier/Daizee Phat Bob profile. Got some HW to do but I will have to play around a bit more. First time I have ever tried that before.
 
The straight clip is a winner. I might need to order a 16, just so I can give that a shot!

Very cool! I like the looks of that over the BK17. I like this one...a lot.
 
Played around with this a bit more...

Took the long clip and made the choil area different. I think its kinda neat.


Also made a funky looking sheeps foot type blade... its not as mean as the steep clip though. More meh...


Then made one that looks a little more like the bushcrafter/kephart type style.


Just playing around... Kinda fun. :D

Looking good. I like the choil thing too, And that bush crafter.
We need a whole box of Lemon BK-16's so we can try all the designs.

They didn't haha, I flipped the blade around to match the drawing more. That would actually be the "BK16" side.

I'm left handed so my sketches are always facing the other way. I didn't think about it when I uploaded them. All your other renditions have been facing the left. It's all my fault you had to flip your image. :D:D

Awesome! Very nice job Warrior. I am really liking this. I may be wrong, but since it is full flat ground and the clip is going down the grind, it would naturally make the clip slightly tapered. It would definitely be slicey. Plus the choiled out area would allow you a little more room on the handle. Nice.... :thumbup: Is it bad that I keep trying to reach through the screen and grab it? lol
