Les George "Eagle" Wilson Combat collaboration - Thoughts?

Wow! Simply amazing! Def competition for the XM flipper!! Awesome knife Les! (and Wilson for putting your name on it) The EAGLE logo doesnt really pop out as much in person. Perhaps the cameras or lighting makes it seem uglier than it is. Its not bad at all. Still wish Les' name was on it somewhere?! Give the guy some credit. The Wilson rep had stated that it doesnt come with a lanyard. That is not true. It does, but its one of those cheesy crappy looking ones that ll come right off!

I want one so bad! It's a beautiful knife.
I love it, it just seems to be perfect.
By the time I have enough built up to get one, they'll be gone.

Yep, the boss added a lanyard without my knowledge :)

Thanks for the feedback. The markings on the knife were a joint decision between us and Les. I am pretty sure he is happy with the end result :)

If a future batch ever offers a "standard edge" by that I mean no recurve, then I'm in.

It would take way less than an hour of hand work on diamond stones to grind off that tiny lip at the ricasso, making that a standard plain edge.

Look at the stock edge, the only thing making it a recurve is that tiny bit of edge at the ricasso. It is such a slight recurve that it is in essence a standard edge.

Some people don't like doing that sort of work, especially to a brand new knife.
The deeper you grind into the blade, the thicker the edge will become. Some people don't like that either.
I get your point though, it's not a very deep recurve, but it's still a recurve (and some people don't like recurves). ;)

I'm glad to see a high-end, full-sized knife that's not over-built and as heavy as a brick.

Good job, Les George and Wilson Combat. :D

I've been selling other knives in order to save up for a Wilson Combat AR platform. This is not helping one bit. Not sure if I can resist (and I don't really want to). Help! Mike

This is the first time I have taken a new knife out of the box and cut myself with it within minutes! Maybe I was excited!? I thought this would be like a VECP flipper. Not so. It has its own personality to it and its amazing! The last knife that got that much wow out of me was my Yuna. The EAGLE is one fine knife people!! Get em while you can! :)

It does look like a VECP flipper. Please elaborate -- thanks.

I didnt want to spend 500+ on a knife anymore but this one was too cool to pass up,got one coming on monday.Theres a review in the review section, too, thats what got me in trouble with this knife in the 1st place !

It definitely has its similarities to the VECP! I would say its a little thinner and the handle shape is a little different. Along with the slight recurve blade. Im hoping this knife "breaks" in some. The flipper is VERY hard to push down. Almost to the point that it hurts your finger. I showed it to a friend of mine and he couldnt even flip it, then said you paid how much for this? I take back my statement that this might be an XM killer as the Hinderer flipper is much friendlier IMO. Anyone else out there have this issue with the very hard flipper?? Hoping it gets easier after time!!

Mine was a little uncomfortable.

My flipper was very stiff when I first got it. I flipped it a bunch this afternoon, and it's slowly loosening up. But yes, very uncomfortable at first (almost alarmingly so, admittedly, when you think about the price tag). This knife is growing on me though. It's very light for it's size. :)

Our customer service policy applies to every product we sell and we unconditionally back every product we put our name on. Of course Les warrants his work fully also.

As most of you guys are aware a flipper needs a strong detent to flip well and also to be "pocket safe".

After a bit of "flippage" the ball detent will wear and the action will smooth up to perfection. You DO NOT want to lube the knife. It is prelubed and has teflon washers. The lube can get on the lock and make it sticky.

Based on what we have seen these break in nicely!

After flipping the Eagle for and hour or so last night, I found it harder and harder to open. So I switched to left hand and Kapow! I'd been putting slight pressure on the lock bar more times than not. Now it flips with no more effort than my ZT560, no sore fingers, even pinky flips. Still missing a thumb stud (used to my Umnumzaan) but very pleased overall.

I wish I can dish out for right now. Good to hear that its planned to be produced for awhile.
