Where I said that Stag was gods perfect handle material ...... Micarta is mans

Never heard it said better, Joe

But I'm still at a loss when I hear people say that no one likes wood or other natural materials anymore. Even in the tactical genre. I just can't reconcile that statement with my own observations. And I perused a number of sites that carry knives from popular and highly collectible tactical knifemakers and saw plenty of sold knives with stag and wooden handles there as well. Guys like Fraley, Burke, Begg and plenty of others...

It almost makes me wonder if it's just a bit of clever marketing. ;) I mean if you can convince your customers that the least expensive and most readily available handle materials are also the most desirable, then you're a much better salesman than I!

Thank you :)

I sell carbon fiber at the shows so I have an idea of what hot and what's not and great stag and ivory will always be in demand .......... Especially with anyone with taste :)

With that said I do believe the market for carbons and phenolics will keep growing in demand and price

Loveless knew a good handle material when he saw it and his sentiments still echo today

Dude, that piece of Desert Ironwood should be illegal. That is way too beautiful.
That wood affects my brain like Crack..
I am serious, I just want to touch it, cut a piece off and smoke it..
That knife is quite simply superb.
Huge Respect from Texas.

Yazzer! And not just the breathtaking wood, the blade is superb. Who's the maker?

As for the intent of this post, I wonder if it even matters. There will always be guys who like bowies, guys who like swords, tacticals, etc. There will never be a segment that controls the overall market. Each to his own.

Money controls just about every market. The intent of the post was to discuss a statement made by an astute and market-involved friend of mine about the tactical sector and the very real and large amounts of money being currently thrown around in it. If bowies and swords become 10% of the total output i
