Let’s see those forum knives

Some sweet examples in this thread. I’m loving the dark knobby varieties, but the smoother scales are very pretty in their own way.

I’ve been enjoying carrying since I got it

I love my forum knife! The elk looks great and fit and finish are excellent. I’m very impressed with Buck’s customer service and the speedy response and willingness to address problems some members have with their forum knives.

I think Buck took extra time and care for this run of knives knowing that every single one was going to collectors and enthusiasts! It would not surprise me at all if the rejection rate of horn used in this project was 2 or 3 times higher than even in Bucks own Custom shop. I have jut 2 301's this one and the BCCI club knife but I see now why the 300 series is so popular..

Going to repeat what I wrote in the Traditional Forum: Got my two Buck's today. The USPS started them slow - sat in one place from last Friday until Monday afternoon - then they took off like a rocket from Spokane all the way to the shore of the Atlantic Ocean in four days (USPS never updated the tracker once it arrived in Spokane). My #1 knife (pictured below) has moderately textured, well matched elk, and is fairly thin in the centers - this elk has nicely colored scales with good contrast between the textured portion and the slick portion of the elk (my first elk handles, there will be more). The knife has nice walk & talk at about a six on both blades - opening and closing - stronger than what I normally get on Idaho built Buck 300 series pocketknives. The knife is sharp and cuts well. I carried this one tonight to a Christmas Dinner party (had to resist the urge to keep pulling it out). I am very pleased with this knife. Oh, it does have some gap but about equal to several older Case, Buck, and Schrade USA pocketknives I've compared it too. Thanks to the porch members of Blade Forums, SK Blades, and Buck Knife Company for putting this project together and following it to conclusion. OH

My #2 knife has much slicker elk and the handles are about even all the way from front to back - about the same thickness as a Buck 301 with rosewood scales. If I didn't know better I would bet that Buck Knife Co. installed mastodon ivory on this knife. It looks very ancient to me. This one has no gaps at all and slightly milder opening and closing snap (about a five on each blade, the clip being about a 4.5). Again equal to or harder than the recent Buck production knives I've bought or owned - just now starting to work some oil into the joints on this one, I expect it will get a bit snappier soon. I was going to keep one and gift one, but I like them both enough to keep both. Thanks again Porch! OH

These knives look absolutely amazing,I guess I can't get one as I don't buy anything on ebay and I live in Nova Scotia canada.Enjoy those beauties folks!

Razorblade, I see some folks are already putting them up for sale in the Traditional Knife Sales sub-forum. Watch there, as I believe more folks will sell their knife, they always do. OH

Had thought wanted knobby, knarly scales
Was so wrong
This elk is smooth, feels great in hand, and has character
Truly a gentlemen’s knife with a taste of the wild
Feel like won the lottery on this years forum knife
It’s perfect, for me :)
