You gonna put that bad boy to use?
Yessir, already seen some light useYou gonna put that bad boy to use?
Outstanding. What a great looking knife. Looks like it’s begging to be used. Any chance you could post a few pictures of the tip? Head on. Trying to gauge thickness…Yessir, already seen some light use
Here’s some compared to my slicer grind XM-18Outstanding. What a great looking knife. Looks like it’s begging to be used. Any chance you could post a few pictures of the tip? Head on. Trying to gauge thickness…
Unfortunately that's fairly typical for a Hinderer, but "shhhhhh" you're not supposed to talk about it. Just take pretty pictures and post them on Instagram. Seriously, from personal experience the skinnies tend to be a bit sharper out of the box, but the regulars not so. My regular Recurve, Wharnie, and Spearpoint were all about the same level of sharpness/dullness as you experienced with your Recurve. That's my biggest beef with Hinderer knives. Finally got one but instantly disappointed in the factory edge, or honestly the lack thereof. Literally can't cut paper. It's like a butter knife. Is this just how Hinderer edges are on a recurve? They offered to have me send in to "resharpen" but I'll probably just do it myself once my Ken Onion Work Sharp Elite arrives and I practice on some old kitchen knives first.

Thank you this question has been driving me crazy I’m glad it’s not that I just got a bad knife. Well not glad per se, still have to sharpen it myself lolUnfortunately that's fairly typical for a Hinderer, but "shhhhhh" you're not supposed to talk about it. Both my Hinderer’s came pretty sharp, especially the wharncliffe eclipse. I actually dropped my slicer xm-18 a broke a tiny piece of the tip off and sent it in to have the tip sharpened out and it came back razor sharp. The pictures I have a few posts up are post-sharpening. Can’t even tell there’s a tiny piece of the tip missingThank you this question has been driving me crazy I’m glad it’s not that I just got a bad knife. Thank you very much for the pics. That tip is what I hoped it would be. That looks like it would make a great EDC for a lot of folks needing the straight edge in their daily lives. Here’s some compared to my slicer grind XM-18

I think what you experienced is more common than not. Finally got one but instantly disappointed in the factory edge, or honestly the lack thereof. Literally can't cut paper. It's like a butter knife.
