Lets see some Hinderer action

I have been accumulating Hinderers for a few years now. I have 10 or so at the moment. there is a question that has been nagging that I have not gotten a solid answer to over this time. I use most of my Hinderers fairly "toughly" not afraid to cut anything and some prying, but not crazy prying. If I were to break a tip or snap a blade or get a chip that would take too much metal removal to repair, will Hinderer reblade the knife for me? I would absolutely pay for this service. I have asked this question on the various facebook groups and have gotten answers both ways: sure they will reblade and not a chance.

I can pay to have Chris Reeves Knives reblade if i break one. will RHK do the same?

thanks in advance

Anybody here use fat Skiff PB washers to replace tri-way bearings in an XM, Eklipse or Half/Fulltrack ? If yes, what are the exact washers you bought, please ?

Thanks !
They have a compatibility chart on their website. I think Hinderer uses 1/4" 1/16" on all their knives according to the chart. I have them on all my hinderers. They have a smother, more solid feel to me.

Just ordered 3 pairs to check them out. Thanks !

Not a very popular Hinderer, have not come across any yet. It's too small .... but not surprised as you love these teeny LGKs ! :)

Haha, I definitely have no problem with a 3 finger knife. I do like the small eklipse better than the small xm. Seems bigger. Guess I’ll have to make my own.

Btw, this is the year of the hinderer for me! I want every version of the harpoon blades in 3.5” xm and eklipse!

I like your style.

If you are OK with PB washers, there are some cool classic Harpoons out there; two of my favorite knives:

C’mon, I’m a LG fanboy! Absolutely love pb washers. I’m 100% open to older models. That’s a beautiful example! His harpoon tanto is one of my all time favorite blades. Can’t wait to get one. The only reason I got the 3” eklipse is because it’s a harpoon spanto. Looking forward to diving deep into Hinderer!

nobody knows if I can pay RHK for a reblade in the event I snap one or lose a tip?
2nding G Greasepiggy - only people that can answer that are the good folks at the Ranch.

The warranty info on their website is pretty vague, but it is clear that you'd need to send them the knife for their inspection no matter what.

For a broken tip, re-profiling or complete regrind I'd highly recommend reaching out to Tom Krein. The Ranch does not void the warranty for Tom's work.

Hope this helps!

I agree that it is pretty vague in the warranty info. I wouldnt even ask them to doit for free, I would gladly pay for a new blade. it seems pretty common knowledge that other makers will reblade, for a cost, it seems kind of secretive through RHK's. I love my hinderers, and have used them for years, but i would hate to think they are disposable if a blade breaks or wears out from sharpening.

Absolutely. There’s no way I’m taking a tri way Hinderer apart and not putting it back together with skiff bearings 👍
