Lets see some Hinderer action

BigInBoca - where did you score those washers? Been wanting to do something similar but can't find sufficient washer replacements. That cheap stock crap that comes in the XM's is ridiculous.

Also curious what the measurements are for the diameter and thickness on the washers...?

Sorry for the crappy pics. I can't ever seem to get good pictures, but tried to do this justice. I finally got it just how I wanted it.

This knife came to me in a trade with CF scales, unanodized lock side, and all blue ti hardware. It's had a couple scales since then, been sharpened, fully anodized, and lately has finally kicked most of my CRKs out of my pocket. I thought about trading this off several times, but now it's one of my favorites. Thinking its time to swap one of the sebenzas for a harpoon next as this is my only hinderer.

The washer shown is WASHER PHOSPHOR BRONZE 1/4"ID X 5/8"OD X .015" from USA knifemaker. If you are working on 3.5" XM18 and Eklipse then you will want the smaller 1/2" OD ones for the lockbar side, they won't take the 5/8" ones on both sides. (These are oversized washers which I have been using. That website also has the original sized ones too.)

Great! Thanks a lot for this information, I appreciate it. I didn't have proper tools to get the thickness measurements on mine. Obviously couldn't proceed without finding those out. I'll check out USA Knifemaker today. I have all XM-18's (3.5") that will be getting the washer replacements. Thanks for the head's up on the 1/2" OD.

What kind of scale is that on your XM in this photo?

What color did you do the anodizing? Would love to see pics of the finished product.

Spketch made this scale. It's coffee sack micarta made by shade tree micarta. The second picture above is with the ano done. This is before

Ah, okay sorry I didn't realize until afterwards that the first batch of pics was the finished ano. Personally I like it much better the way it is now, after you re-anodized everything and got rid of the blue hardware. Nice custom scale too, interesting pattern.
