I love this information. My wallet does not.HU: there is a new skinny 24 Bowie coming out. RKH is starting in O1, but I'm guessing stainless will follow soon ....
This new Vintange Bowie is actually in 1095. I dig itHU: there is a new skinny 24 Bowie coming out. RKH is starting in O1, but I'm guessing stainless will follow soon ....
Love my 24 skinny Wharnie and (classic) Slicer.
Sorry, extrapolated from my old vintage XMs.This new Vintange Bowie is actually in 1095. I dig it
I tend to agree that it's very expensive for 1095. But the period correct dedication I support, it's a wicked piece, but my wallet says no.Not my cuppa, at all. Way too much for sad old 1095.
That’s a bad dude right there.Guess I should have posted this new-to-me addition here last week.

AFAIK, no.As a new Hinderer fan, can someone enlighten me on whether a normal width, xm-18 slicer hollow in Magnacut has ever been offered?
Noted. I called monkey edge and they thought it was offered before but I still haven't been able to see one anywhere, at retailers or people posting their pieces. No big deal, I just thought Magnacut combined with hinderer is extra cool. The ultimate American knife with the spiffy high tech American stainless. I have alot of 20cv already, but it's treated me well so no problem.AFAIK, no.
Ah I forgot about that. I too read that the Erasteel version tested a little bit better. I'm not mad about it, but it's a shame we lost another steel company.Magnacut is, sadly, no longer American. Crucible’s IP was purchased by Erasteel. I believe they are French. I read the quality has improved, so that’s the upside.

I love my skinny hollow eklipse but I feel like it's a crime to not own an original width, and the xm has become very appealing to me. I am looking for a working finish and was able to find a 20cv, but would prefer Magnacut if it exists.

I'd like to get the groups opinions and recommendations for my next Hinderer. For reference, my experience thus far is Eklipse skinny hollow, and ZT 0392WC and 0562MIC.
I think I want an XM-18 but could be convinced for a Jurassic. I am all about the slicer hollow grind, but I want to hear what you think about whether I should get a normal width or skinny. I do plan to use it, nothing hardcore, primarily breaking and opening boxes and cutting hay bale strings. I do definitely prefer the skinny blade just for the extra slicing performance, and while the skinny Eklipse is definitely not uncomfortable by any means, I definitely prefer the ergonomics of a fatter handle.
So xm-18? Or Jurassic? And normal? Or skinny? I guess my perfect Hinderer would be normal width with a skinny hollow blade, a guy's gotta dream.
