Lets see some Hinderer action

Black g10 and a fresh USA Made Blade bronze anodizing job.
Really hope I like the knife, never handled one...

Hello guys, i have a question, is it easy to change the scale on XM if you don't have the Rick Hinderer tool ?

Very easy. I use a dime on the screw side and just press my thumb against the back side.
The standoffs use a 2.0 hex bit.

I'm loving this new wf scale!

Congrats! Can't wait to hear your thoughts on it.

Today I decided to bust out the fatty and give it some exercise. Haven't carried it in maybe 2 months...

DLT Trading still has a few left if you're OK paying retail. I liked them so much that I bought 3 or 4 from there.
Looks like they only have battle blue and battle bronze left.
Both of those finishes are beautiful.
I had 6 at one time, but I'm down to a battle bronze, a battle black, and a DLC.
It would be hard to pick one as my favorite.
Here's a couple pics of the blue, maybe that'll encourage you to grab one from DLT...

Ohh man, is that a 24?

I really want an XM-24, but their availability in M390 seems very limited. Especially if I want one without a choil.

I've also never seen one with a slicer grind which I may prefer depending on just how thick the spanto and spearpoint are. I am sure the reports of "too thick to cut anything" are kind of overblown but I would like something that cut well along with being robust.

It's a 3.5". Probably has close to the same amount of cutting edge without the choil as a 24, though.
Google DLT M390, one of the first links should be the page with the choilless ones.

My initial thoughts on the MP-1 are mixed.
Love the size and weight, LOVE the sheepsfoot.
Definitely needs some break in. Not super smooth yet without it being uncentered when closed.
I definitely don't like the choil. Did I ever mention that I don't like choils? ;)
Overall I think I like it, but it didn't kick an XM out of my pocket today...

They've got 18s, but no 24s. I really prefer a 4" blade.

The m390 in the 4" was pretty limited from what I recall. We had a few standard wharncliffe blades and that was it for us.

As nice as it would be to do a custom run of Xm-24s, the reality is the 18s sell 50 to 1 for us. You'd really have a good cutting edge though without a choil on a 24.

Very much like the feel, the blade shape, the overall knife. I cannot get past the "styling" of the scale on the all-titanium version. If it was full textured like an XM scale, I would love it. Or if it was completely smooth, given the shape of the grip, that would be fine too. But I really dislike the aesthetic of the weird shaped patch of texture.
