LETS SEE THOSE MAGNIFICENT HARNESS JACKS

My first Waynorth SFO. Thank you Johnnythefox Johnnythefox for the opportunity to snag this one. I couldn't be happier! Now the question is, do I use it right away or do I wait to use it at my wedding in a couple months to commemorate the night? Hmmmm.....

Glad it arrived from Blighty OK,quite quick delivery as well.

The US and UK postal services seem to work well together.

I think you will be very tempted to try out that awl,but watch your fingers. 😅

Quite proud of this one!! An early Hammer Brand!!NYK A.jpg
An early knife, yet unused, with dense pick-bone handles, a lovely etch, and an early patent number, it was likely made before WW1, when NYK was in its heyday!!

How many HJs have you got Charlie?

I was looking in antique shops today, all I could find was a few SAKs I wish I knew where all the old English knives had gone to.
I've got a few of those old English knives!! There are a lot of collectors where you are, I have heard!!! Years ago I sent a couple of English Barlows back to Jack Black!!! He couldn't find a single one in Leeds!! 😲
I've been sorting my HJs just today - I have a few over 100 old ones, inlcuding the one above that you just saw!!😁
Here's another, an unusual Remington!!
USA  Rem Surv.jpg
Built on Remington's Surveyor pattern - a swell-center Jack; in this case a Harness Jack, with their famous Punch and Acorn shield, and an exotic Clip blade!!!

When I get to the English Sharp show I will be on a mission to find Old English penknives,most people are out for the tactical new stuff so I have a chance. 😇

Does anyone know why Remington chose the acorn shield to mean punch?
Cattaraugus already chose the disc/circle! Robeson stamped the letters "BP" (for Belt Punch - referring to industrial belting) on a shield. The acorn implies the strength of an Oak; but I suspect also a bit of whimsy!! 😁 :cool:
The companies weren't always consistent but here are examples;
