I think the one you three are missing is the ebony one. Tony Bose has it. He's the only one who owns all the Ebony HJs, one of each.
I own two HJ 1s, both jigged bone.

That is where the Ebony went. Now I know where they all are. History lesson. Thanks Charlie.

Your's is a beauty Perry. I hope I never let go of these I scored. One of a kind is to hard to find. Didn't know they were 420 HC. I learned something new today. Thanks.

Darn! That's what I was afraid of!! ;) I been lookin for that Pearl for years now.

Dave

PS Good lookin HJ's Ronnie! Congratulations!!:cool::cool:

Thanks Dave...I still remember our conversation awhile back over your search for the pearl hj. You are at the top of the list if I decide to release it. I just couldn't believe I found so many in one spot.

Yep, me too see post #412 I was thinking of mocking up a photograph of the set just like the one that that Kerry Hampton put together, without the Ebony teardrop.

Thanks for the Pics, Ron!
This thread is a hoot!!!

This year, 2015, this knife turns 100 years old for sure!

This knife was produced in Springville between 1912 and 1915.
I think the new plant burned down or something???
Anyone know for sure - I can't find my book.

Spiritual ancestor to the #15 pattern HJ - same size!

Nice Case Brothers Charlie! :thumbup::)

This Schrade is the size of the GEC #15. The blade was used but the punch is like new

That one is superb, Mark!:thumbup:
(Also, I really like your photo stump. :D Do you keep that indoors somewhere?)

Hey Mark, I have a question for you. I have a similar Holyoke HJ, and I suspect the tang on the main blade has been modified. Does yours have a half stop?

Thanks. Great knife!

Yes it does have a half stop Phil and so does the punch blade. It snaps hard.....maybe why someone modified it?

Yeah mine has a cam tang on the main but still has the half stop on the punch. Whoever did it knew what they were doing though, it's tough to tell that it's been disassembled!

Are you sure it is just not rounded off from years of use? I have had old knives with rounded tangs due to wear.
