Heres another addition to my HJ's, this one here I am VERY pleased to have join me, Robin Sir-Thank you for giving me the opportunity to own this lovely old knife , and folks, by old this lovely specimen is 100 years old, it has a couple of wee things going on, the Shield has its tiny corner missing, and the Rats Tail has a groove running off a wee bit - the Rats tail I can fix with ease - but I am not going to - this knife to me is an excellent example - and HJ is made to work and work hard - this knife has had NO work, No Sharpening - I love this knife exactly the way it is.

I find myself extremely busy with work lately so I am missing out on a lot of whats going on with the TC world, but I do find myself wanting to concentrate more on the HJ side of things - in a more serious manner, so I guess we will see where this new direction will take me from here.

The HJ's are giving me mixed emotions, I was contacted by a Forum friend wanting to know if I wanted to buy his HJ - it is/was a beauty - but this magnificent HJ looks to be lost in the mail for some time now - :grumpy: :( so I am trying to cope with that - Money is not the issue - its the knife - it is/was a beautiful example of yesteryear ...

Somehow fate took a wee twist and I received a surprise package from another great forum friend - featuring a beautiful HJ :eek::), - Unfortunately I cannot show this knife until I place a thank you in the appropriate manner - but it will feature in this Thread!

Here is a lovely Old HJ - Massive Swedge, Long Pull - this Iron Bolstered Beauty deserves to be in a Thread Titled "Show Us Your Magnificent HJ's"...

Duncan, two stunning HJ's!!!

Robin and Bob those are beautiful knives right there. Duncan, I swear that Challenge HJ just about didn't find the PO:p:D;)

Robin and Bob, it must've been very hard to part with such vintage beauties:thumbup: but when it comes to the recipient it makes it so much easier;)

That Challenge is a killer knife, Duncan! Top of the heap!
And a nice NYK to boot!
You are building a world class collection!

Paul Sir- Thank YOU for everything.

Charlie - again thank you too Sir. I hope to really start to build up the HJ's.

The introduction of the new Washington Jack Punch Knife prompted the purchase of this HJ 7...

... the versatility of a spear blade with punch, combined with the HJ 7's comfortable grip, have caused it to become one of my favorites.

Howdy Redsparrow- you purchased well Sir- I hope you manage to get one of the up-coming Punch Knives - I hope I do as well!!

Been awhile since I've caught up with this thread and Man!! Those are a couple of Real Beauties Duncan :thumbup:
Charlie isn't talking out of turn when he said world class collection!! I'm very pleased to watch your collection grow Mate!!! And grow with such CLASS!!! VERY :cool::cool:

Thanks Duncan. I'm enjoying the HJ 7 while looking forward to the Washington Punch Knife I have reserved.:)
The Harness Jack is a brilliant design, somewhat akin to the most useful half of a SAK Farmer. It's history makes it that much more interesting.
Duncan I also hope you are able to add the newest HJ to your already impressive collection.
Thank you Charlie for bringing about the remake of these cutlery treasures.:thumbup:

I dont think my HJ's come anywhere close to others here ;) but I am so focused on the HJ's now :)

Well James, I can only hope, I tend to get my knives a lot later than everyone as where I live and I have a special Partner who inspects my knives before I get them lol - I wont mention Paul Hilborn's name, but he sorts through them first and gets to handle them before I do - and I think thats kinda cool -

Duncan, I'm sure your "special Partner's" inspection process is extremely efficient, completely beneficial and greatly appreciated.;)
Paul appears to be an upstanding guy, you're fortunate to have him as a friend.:thumbup:
but...could his enjoyment of your acquisition be the reason for the lengthy delivery times?;):D

So, I was looking at my HJ archive of SFOs, and took an HJ1 out of the cabinet, and looked at the back of the blade. I completely missed :o that it has been ten years since the first one!!! 2005!! A great, enjoyable decade for an incurable knife lover!! :)
I asked GEC to whip up a special button to drop into the tubes. Old "last-minute Charlie""!!
But they helped me out here;
