LETS SEE THOSE MAGNIFICENT HARNESS JACKS

Charlie, all those customs are a sight to behold !! I can see that I'm going to have to make a trip up to Harnessville for a little CE & CF'ing! :D

While I can't even come close to the knives shown here lately, I have received a couple of items this week that are VERY Dear to my heart!
So far 2016 has been Very kind to me (even if I don't deserve it) ;)
I have waited a Looooooong time for both these material objects, 10 years for 1 and 18 years for the other!
So without further ado I will unveil THE FINAL SFO Harness Jack, produced by Charlie, that completes my collection of all Charlie's SFO HJ's.
The blade etch says 1 of 9 but I know of at least 4 that the celluloid has imploded. So I'm not really sure how many still exist with their original candy stripe covers. But by golly my patience and perseverance FINALLY paid off !:D After 10 years of looking I had all but given up hope!:grumpy:
Now I do know which of these 2 items is more important than the other. For without the one I would not have the other or really anything for that matter!
But as far as pocketknives goes..........this is THE GRAIL KNIFE for me!! :D:D
So here she is, #69 Queen HJ #2 in Candy Stripe Cell..........

This is GOOD READING Dave Sir.
You are not the only one Rapt.
I think it's really important to have someone like you who has shown such dedication and persaverance to actually complete the series!!!
I think the only other one I have seen us Sarah's - of which had rescaled ( in Ebony from memory? ) because of this problem.

Super news Dave and this is such a massive accomplishment.
Congratulations my friend.

Oh, Happy day, Oh Happy Day!!!

That is BE-A-U-tiful! As pretty as any custom knife shown here. I have only ever seen one other HJ2 with the the candy stripes. Mine is ebony, but I love her just the same.

Congrats on getting your "white whale."

Nice going, Dave!!
There might only be two remaining with the Candy on them.
Don't quote me as my memory is not as sharp as it used to be.
There were two pieces of Candy Cell involved. One produced 5 knives and one produced 2.
As I recall, the 5s all went off.

A real pleasure reading that Dave - and a good catch up as well!

I was sitting down last night going through my knives with a routine Mineral Oil and checK etc, and wanted to take a few shots for this Thread, I will be sure to repeat Daves post ^^ because thats not one to leave behind so soon imo......

A nice grouping of Fine HJ's with bone to die for, looking at these lovely knives of mine- in any category - I think of the person they came from - a good deal of my knives I know where they came from - this adds to the value of the knife to me- ESPECIALLY if the knife was gifted ......

Ulster - Dwight Divine, and this fine HJ is most certainly Divine - a pretty working knife if there can be such a thing....

Two great old NY Knife Co's .... The Pic Bone version a Hammer brand marked on the Mark side, with NY Knife Co on Pile side - Just Look at that ebony Ol' Girl..... What Old Beauties that show wear but show quality at the same time - I'm not too sure if this is shared universally throughout the Knife collecting world - but I kinda like a great Knife that shows love and care throughout it'd long life- and yet still looks Grand! Like these two....

Great pics Duncan, I was just admiring the bone on that knife in the 'Old Knives' thread, it really is a beauty. Well done to Paul H, and you, of course, are a most deserving recipient :)

Congrats Dave I'd love to see sometimes a group shot of the complete collection.
Duncan these are breath taking, just wow. the bone on these can not be found on modern versions.
Jake your Washington punch is stunning, the next best to the oldies.

Thank you all for sharing
Mike

Duncan!! that Robeson is WAY
I just love that bone!! I don't believe I've ever seen better! What a gift!!!
Congratulations Mate! Good on you Paul, you really know what a knife nut likes!!!

Just BEAUTIFUL !
Dave

That Robeson, 622382 pattern I think, is just great.

The bone and that jigging are not common, but is consistent with Robeson's output.

Beautiful old knife Duncan.
