LETS SEE THOSE MAGNIFICENT HARNESS JACKS

The 4th HJ run was made by Great Eastern on their "big cigar" pattern. And Charlie went back to the Robeson style punch. I don't remember what the closed length is & I'm nowhere near my collection to measure 1. There were 2 patterns made, a Stag with a clip main and an Ebony with a spear main. Oh I forgot to add, there were only about a dozen of each pattern made on this run. Also I find it interesting that when Bill Howard left Queen and started GEC, the Harness Jack followed him. Of course that is no surprise to anyone who knows who in the knife business REALLY makes these old traditional patterns and punches! We are pretty lucky to have both Charlie & Bill with the desire and the ability to conger up the past!!

Dave,as my buddy down south says, you've been knowing Charlie's HJs a long time.Beautiful HJs and rare.

That wormgroove green bone is the same they used on one of the 2009 Titusville farmers jacks Queen did.

Dave - amazing - just a beautiful and very full line up of fantastic HJ,s!
I am starting to click slowly into gear of collecting the HJ - it will take a while, but I am ok with that - especially if I get anywhere near your stunning line-up.
Thank you all for sharing your lovely HJ's, please keep them coming!

Dave, you know how I feel about these, we've been at this for a while now. You have all the most sought after HJs, from all the series'. I salute ya Dave!

The 5th Harness Jack Charlie had made was on the #85 frame of GEC's. She sported 2 handle materials, Ebony and Walnut jigged bone. With the Napanoch punch, it comes in at 3 3/4" closed. This Teardrop frame is pretty close to the 1st HJ that Charlie had Queen make.

The last offering our friend has commissioned, CC HJ6, was built on the 66 frame, once again by Great Eastern. It was dubbed "The Teamster's Jack, the 1st one built on a serpentine frame and only the second HJ with a clip main. 150 knives in 3 covers were made, Ebony, Tomato Acrylic and Red jigged bone. They came in at 3 7/16" closed and according to the Man, the punch is a copy of an early Case Tested punch. There were also a few (6 or 8 I believe) interior Elephant Ivory examples along with the 3 exterior bark Ivory handles that are shown. NONE of the photos in this post are mine. A couple are Charlie's & the others I stole from elsewhere on the web.

Just beautiful Dave, I love the 85's, I think this shot of mine highlights everything about these magnificent knives, that Punch is unbelievable- Charlie adapted this from the Napanoch Punches - What a Great Move that was!!!! Thank you Charlie and Bill for getting together and actually making one of the finest HJ's to exist.....
