Thanks to you Charlie, simply a perfect knife-you just cant fault it, this fantastic knife is right up there in my collection without a doubt!

It does the same to me Mike, its a class act all the way, in saying that, the HJ6 has captured me as well my friend!
 
WOW, I finally know who has the other one! Great going Duncan, you have the only other Tortoise Shell to exist in this HJ series,,,, in the WORLD!
Thought I might as well revive this thread with showing all mine here. No I don't own any older ones, pretty sure Charlie bought all those,,,lol. BTW Charlie, the Tortoise is still holding on, all I do is watch it everyday! The candy stripe seems to be fine. The first is the Buffalo Horn 1 of 1. You know what the rest are, these shots were all taken tonight btw, so everyone can see current condition.

Lovely knives indeed...Ive never been a fan of this pattern, but i can certainly see the attraction had i been on my horse a 100 years ago....Awesome viewing of stunning knives guys..................FES

I love the Candy stripe as well - beautiful!!
That one of one doesn't look right to me - it needs sending my way to check it out, I promise to send it straight back - although I cant guarantee safe arrival - you just cannot trust the post these days! ;)

Although I love this pattern I only have two. The "Real Harness Knife" was gifted to me by Duncan and to me it is one of one :thumbup:---THANK YOU DUNCAN!!! The #66 HJ I was able to pick up here on the forum :)

Paul - it was a pleasure - as you know I too have a Ebony Real Harness as well, AND I too was able to pick up the 66 here on the forum - thanks to Mike B when he put it up for grabs in out fro sale area! -So we share the pleasure with these two!

How can a guy feel so strongly about an old, mostly obsolete pattern such as this one???
They just take my soul to another simpler time, I guess!!

Here's another interesting one. I think it suffered a chip in the blade, so someone just widened the choil to take the chip out - sigh . . .
It still looks pretty good though. Maybe a Case wizard can date this one for me??

Indeed Charlie, a simpler time indeed :thumbup: Nice to know that the pattern still lives on when the times have changed. The punch still to this day serves a very useful purpose. I've done handyman work in my off season for the last 15+ years and the SAK awl was ever so useful. I picked up your #66 HJ earlier this summer and it was such a nice transition from the SAK to it.

Lately I rec'd the "Real Harness Knife" from Duncan just before Christmas and although the punch is noticeably different by design versus the #66 I find I use it in many many applications. Other than using the punch to start a hole, help untie knots etc... I find the sharp side of the punch makes an excellent stripper of wire sheathing :thumbup:

In a nutshell, it may not be used for it's original purpose much anymore but it's nice knowing there are modern day applications it truly excels at :)

I really really like this pattern and see another weakness that will be hard for me to overcome ;)

That CASE by the way is a true treasure as well. Your collection boggles my mind Charlie.

Many thanks for all you do, I hope you don't tire of hearing that time after time but I feel it just can't be said enough.

Charlie, I have NEVER seen a Case with the squared - off "C" in the name CASE!
Amazing.
 
Charlie, google search turned up this:

"Actually Case Brother's Plant in Little Valley burned down around 1912. They rebuilt in Springville in 1913 but ceased to exist in 1914. So they were in Springville a very short time. That is why Case Brother's knives with the Springville stamp are rare."
 
Some I follow,their knives and posts,seems we see things similarly.Several are in this thread. A pleasure viewing these knives in this robust pattern.Thanks gentlemen.

Wow!!...what a gorgeous collection! Especially that 85 right in the center! If only I could find one for sale, I'd be a happy camper!!

On to the second run, another Queen SFO, this HJ is 3 1/2" closed with a Mayer punch. She came in 3 covers, 75 Goldenroot bone, 25 ebony and just 9 Candystripe. But I believe there was some problems with the Candystripe so I don't know how many are out there. I don't have 1 to show you. :mad:
