LETS SEE THOSE MAGNIFICENT HARNESS JACKS

Hear hear on Nature Boys #3 user - what a knife😊👍👍

Dave!!!!
Whoaaasa!! That must near be the only survivor? ( top HJ for those who are wondering which HJ)
1 of 9 only ever made only to find that they pretty much all gassed out fairly quickly - Yet …. Here is this beauty right here.
Thank you for showing us that one Dave - do you know of any other survivors?
Are you keeping this one in any special way to prolong the life of the unstable Cell?

Duncan,

If memory serves, which often it doesn't, Charlie told me that when Queen was making HJ #2 there were 2 sheets of candy strips. A large piece in which 7 of the 9 knives made were covered and a smaller piece that covered the other 2. All 7 of the bigger piece of celluloid out gassed. So my guess is that somewhere out there, there should be one more!
Both of these knives live on top of my dresser outside of their boxes where I can keep an eye on them!

Amazing, rare beauties, Dave!
Your story sounds correct; that there were two sets. One survived and one did not. I don’t remember the numbers though.

Your memory is fine Dave!!

There you go Dave - you don’t need to worry about your memory my friend.
I have the 1 of 16 - oh man your making me want to go and check it out now( although I did just around 3 weeks ago with the “ new” HJ lots. Thank you my friend. 😊👍

Duncan,
I have not heard of a candy strip #3 out gassing! Only the #2's had a problem, so I think you're safe and can relax!

Dave

LOVE IT GUYS! Thanks very much for the posts of your great Knives!
Thanks Dave for the info- I haven't heard of the 3's outgassing either, What is really scary is I wear Gloves with my knives, check on them at say 3 monthly intervals- and I find a rust spot that is very large and going to town! I Mineral oil the Joints, R Wax the Blades- wiping on the R wax- letting it dry then softly wipe off excess- yet this still happens- its really frustrating- this happened on a superb One arm opener from the GEC Rendezvous where they made only 30 - I was extremely lucky enough to get the 31 stamped ( does this mean 30 for release and the #1 for the GEC Display?)
Anyway- this happened to that knife quite some time ago- it was the most horrific discovery ever- I got it in time without it doing too much damage- but it has left a stain the size of say 4match heads together - so storing Knives is scary in different parts of the world. at times humidity is in the 90's - today its 67%.

Merry Christmas everyone! Have a Happy and safe one! :)

Duncan My Friend! I can't imagine having to put that much maintenance in my pocketknives! Humidity here is about 5% so I never have corrosion or rust problems. I spend more time wiping down bone, wood and stag with mineral oil or lemon oil, usually bout every 6 months.
Merry Christmas to you and yours over there on the other side of the world.
Beautiful HJ Paul ! Heal quickly!

Dave

Thank you Dave my friend!
Yes - it’s lots of work believe me! But it’s good because it’s a rediscovery time as often you think “ Darn…. I forgot about this knife “ so that always is great!
I wish I had to do that little work to mine! It’s very heart breaking finding rust sieve - it’s almost impossible to keep a knife 100% mint.
Merry Christmas to you too my friend. 😊👍
