Let's see your good old basic fixed blades, Bowie's, Stickers, etc.

Carried this one for a few days while camping and hiking around the PA Grand Canyon area.

CKCA Knife of 2010 by Karl Andersen. W2 steel with Koa (which happens to be my dog’s name as well).

Exploring the rim trail that runs along the western side. The “road” you see down in the bottom is the Pine Creek Rail Trail (no motor vehicles allowed):

Great looking knife and country!
And same for that bear dog! ;)

Hanging out with the ex-in laws, AKA...the outlaws. Father in law showed me a knife he bought in the early 70's. He bought one, as did his Dad and my girls great uncle.

An S Morseth. The sheath is stilol in great shape after being used every hunting season since he got it.

Great leather on that one!!
Thanks! I've wanted a stacked leather knife ever since my father gave me Grandpa's old Kutmaster. The handle is so comfortable, but it's just not one I would carry or use. The Hess Muley is the kind of knife I've been looking for: small like a bird & trout, but with a wider blade. :)

Here's a question from a fixed blade noob: I see pictures of folks skinning deer with leather handled knives. How well sealed is the leather? My understanding is that it is just waxed and buffed. I'm fine with it gaining character, but will it get stinky from blood and fish guts, etc?

Rachel,
Just keep it coated with Snow Seal, Ren Wax or beeswax...or a combination. It should be good and sealed.

^ I agree, it’s already treated so just maintain it just like oiling carbon steel and it’ll never be an issue.

Nice Kutmaster also Rey.

Thanks, guys! I'm looking forward to the blade developing patina but don't want the handle smelling like fish bait. :p

Going for a hike this morning at the lake and I am packing my old Buck #102 Woodsman that I got it in the mid 1970's. She's scary sharp.
