sunnyd, nice knife!

Thanks, Ray.

Nice score Anthony... Thats a great lookin set. Its amazing how much stuff a guy can find to trade when he really wants something isn't it :D

Heres my first BRK in Desert Ironwood that I picked up a couple weeks ago.
Anthony, After seeing the pic of your Antique Bone Stag BRK, I bought a Antique Bone Stag BRK Woodland and Pro Scalpel II :D. I can't take picks right now though because our high zoot camera is in being serviced :(

Yes sir, Mike that Desert Ironwood is a beauty. I love the durability of Ironwood and its drop dead gorgeous to behold as well. Wait till you put her to use on a nice Elk?!. :D  Did you get a fire steel to go with it?. I'll be looking forward to the pictures of the ABS Barky when you get your camera back

Today was a pretty good day I must admitt. I'v been trying to hustle that Treeman off my friend for quite a spell now. He needed the ammo real bad and was dead broke and is smitten with vintage Fight'n Roosters, so I was able to seal up the deal in short order. :p ;) :D

Vince, I was unaware or did not recall that Rick also produced sheath knives as well as slipjoints. All his work is extremely impressive!. These are all wonderful stickers. Man, I love his designs here. Great shot showing the couture of his full tang construction and the inlay on that one a real nice touch and exudes CLASS!. Very  I'd like to see more of his sheath knife work.

Nope, no firesteel. Yet :D... I was just lookin at them on KSF. The matching DI is 65 bucks

Sounds like ya both were happy with the swappin. I took a couple Flexirils earlier for my shoulder and my brains not working, but I'm drawing a blank on the Treeman for some reason. Whats the background on that one ? I really like the style and look of the sheath she came with too.

Whaoo, $65.00 for a fire steel is a bit on the steep side to be sure.. I'd get a plain fire~steel with a little length to it and a matching chunk of DI lumber and fashion up my own. It be a fun little project too.

The short story is Jim Behring has been making custom knives since 1998-99 and hand makes most of his wares like William Wales Scagel and later like 'Bo' Randall use to. For these knives he hand forges from O-1 Hi-Carbon steel and pounds out these pieces which he typically convex grinds to perfection. His shop in Michigan is over loaded with lots of stag-antler and a large array of fossil ivory.

Thanks for the info Anthony. Sounds like his shop would be a fun place to drink a little coffee and listen to some stories. Not to mention watching him work.

I like your idea about doin up my own firesteel, I didn't even think about it.
Won't be long and the snow will be flyin, so I'll be needin something to do this winter.

Nice assortment of knives TKC.
That first one is a real eye catcher

I LIKE THEM ALL, Suz! Very nice array of sheath blade stickers to be sure!

I especally like the Ohare. :)

Thank you kindly. Which O'Hare do you like? The green one or the one with the Damasteel bolster?

Yes, the Fireant is the one with the green bones scales.

Thanks!!! That is his Badger model. I ordered that from Sean at Blade '06, in fact the model had no name at the time. I got when I was in AK. in 08.

I also saw Sean at the 2006 Blade show but sadly didn't order from him..

Great selection there from him!.

Thanks,

Anthony
