I spent a lot of time looking at that page, as a boy Jer!Wacky Grackle Bazaar carbon. Maybe German, maybe American. They had just transitioned.

Anyway, it's 3 & 3/8 inches from the shoulders to the end of the tang, so I was thinking I'd have to do some fancy drilling to attach a long enough handle.
But I'll just find a nut for it and inlet it into a two piece handle, inspired by Bernard S. Mason's hook tang.
I like his test for a woods knife: will it slice bacon?I spent a lot of time looking at that page, as a boy Jer!I got as far as hacksawing a file in half, but didn't have any tools beyond that!

Me too, it is a great test. When I was reviewing knives here, it was one of my tests, though some readers misunderstood, and thought I was talking about CUTTING bacon!I like his test for a woods knife: will it slice bacon?
Perfect candidate for a stacked leather handleWacky Grackle Bazaar carbon. Maybe German, maybe American. They had just transitioned.

Got some good mountain man kit there buddy! BCompletely forgot I'd ordered this '19th Century Sheffield Trade Knife' from Tod Cutler!Big old thing with a 7 1/2", and thicker stock than I'd have imagined (5mm) bladePaid the extra £15 for a sharp blade - I wish Tod would find someone who knows how to sharpen a knife!
I need to stop buying so many FBs!
