  • Today marks the 24th anniversary of 9/11. I pray that this nation does not forget the loss of lives from this horrible event. Yesterday conservative commentator Charlie Kirk was murdered, and I worry about what is to come. Please love one another and your family in these trying times - Spark

Let's see your good old basic fixed blades, Bowie's, Stickers, etc.

Thanks. I'm entranced by the blade shape.
Maybe I'll appreciate the long hollows in the handle more when I'm fighting a giant electric penguin in the Sahara.

Though a narrow blade works better in a broad place than a broad blade works in a narrow place.

I'll be carrying this generous gift to watch New Scandinavian Cooking.
It's a cool-looking knife Jer  Enjoy your cookery programme! :D

Well, I bought the leather snap-around for the Ontario Seneca, but it didn't work very well, so I put my old 119 in the new sheath and put the OKC in the old Buck's flap holster. Then last Saturday I bought the 2006 Buck 119 with no sheath, so I ordered a plastic Buck 119 sheath (cheaper, but still by (or for) Buck)).

I could put the Ontario back in the flap holster and put the 119s in the other 119 sheathes, but I think my old Buck should have its own sheath back, and the Ontario really wants a deep pouch sheath with a liner cut to match the slant of the handle.

I like the full hollow grind on the lower one that I bought today more than the fat-lipped hollow grind on my original one.

Blade by Kustaa Lammi (1901 - 2001), Made in Kauhava, Finland. Model: 150mm.

Blade is 5"7/8 (150mm) long.

Hand Forged Carbon steel with satin polish.

Blade has rhomboid crossection. It is 0.14" (3.5 mm) thick at rhomboid's widest.

Traditional scandinavian grind.

I believe the blade is over 50 years old. NOS item. Not many in existence nowadays. I was lucky to come across a few of them recently. These are the blades used by Iisakki Jarvenpaa, including his horse head knives. These were, some say (and I will not argue), the best puukko blades ever made. I have not polished the blade, decided to leave it in its original state. Custom Handle : Brass, Stabilized Karelian Birch Burl, G10 Spacers. Assembled on a rat-tail tang with epoxy. Custom Leather Sheath with a Wood Liner. Stitched by hand. Treated with beeswax. Distressed (aged, antiqued) leather finish.View attachment 2377230View attachment 2377231View attachment 2377232View attachment 2377233View attachment 2377234View attachment 2377235
