Let's see your good old basic fixed blades, Bowie's, Stickers, etc.

Whats the wood on the Big Island Skinner-loving that blade!!

I had some thick mammoth ivory scales I purchased on E-Bay I sent Charlie to use on this. Having a fairly large hand, Charlie kept this handle fairly full for me, and I really like the result. It has a woodsy look with the natural cracks unfilled in it.

The blade shape on that Olsen makes it stand out. Thanks for the info.

Here's a nice, large skinner from David Farmer (he posts in the Maker's For Sale forum here on BFC).

Differential heat-treatment, forged L6 steel with bamboo handle scales. 9" OAL, tough, lively and SHARP!

I was up north at Kittery trading post drooling over the Randalls they have. They did have a nice little Kabar fin for cheap money. I should have grabbed it.

Hi folks -

How about a JK Handmade Gambler's Bowie in 01 steel - 5/16", with 8 inch blade, contoured maple burl handle scales.

Behind it is the Wasteland Leatherwork custom Apocalyptic-style sheath that I had made for the Bowie.

Adding a picture of my three JK's - bottom is a Kephart, and on top is Stomper's Combat/Survival model - all in maple burl.

Wood!!...( washing my mouth out with soap ):o
I think the handle looks great, the reason I asked was because of the nature of the mammoth ivory-makes it look very interesting, cool knife!

Well now my son is on the top of my  list!. Here is an old Schrade-UH sticker that was unknown to me prior to this, an early Christmas gift which I just received from him last evening. This is a vintage model 'U.S.A.171UH' known as the 'Pro Hunter' by name. I believe(?) that she was produced back in the 1960's-70's..

Still trying to learn more about this knife but I do know I love it with its torched antler handle, stout single brass guard and old school bowie style design.

Aha! Olllld fixed balde thread! That's An awesome Schrade, Anthony. I've never seen a treatment like the top of that guard. Is that a designer' name or an owner's?

Here's a couple of Bowies I made for gifts this year-- top one for my uncle and bottom one for my dad.

Fine looking stickers you have made for your kinfolk here, Josh.. As far as the grade level of this vintage Uncle Henry knife, I am just not sure. I am going to ask over in Bernard Levine's sub-forum here at BF later today to try and get some details.

Thanks,
Anthony

Your knife has been customized. Not factory on the handle. Looks great!

Can y'all believe a young'n of 15 years old would take the bulk of his Christmas funds to purchase a knife for his old man's pleasure in this day and age though?. I reckon I'll be keeping this one to use out in the field forever!!

Your son is only 15? You have quite the resourceful boy there, that's a very nice find. It looks like the lad has pretty discriminating tastes, it might be time for you to introduce him to the folks here.
