Let's see your good old basic fixed blades, Bowie's, Stickers, etc.

Your son is only 15? You have quite the resourceful boy there, that's a very nice find. It looks like the lad has pretty discriminating tastes, it might be time for you to introduce him to the folks here.

- Christian

Yes Christian. Thanx for your comments. You're quite right of coarse and he already resides here at BF.com with his own handle.. In fact, he tells me that he purchased this old Schrade right here in the 'for sale' sub-forum from another member with his mothers assistance..

Can y'all believe a young'n of 15 years old would take the bulk of his Christmas funds to purchase a knife for his old man's pleasure in this day and age though?. I reckon I'll be keeping this one to use out in the field forever!!
Anthony

I don't blame you there. In fact I'd give a 15-year-old a  for still paying attention to what the old man likes. Looks to me you have a great knife and an even better kid there Anthony. Keep 'em both as long as you can.

My boy is pushing 22, serving our country and getting married next month. He's made me proud. I swear there is no finer feeling than the feeling you get form knowing that you did something that you feel is right.

I was scared every minute of his life that I was doing it wrong 'til I realized that he had come of age and was a man. Seems to me your boy is on the right track. Congrats!

Howdy Chris,

Agreed! Our kids really are something to be proud of. Raising them up as best we can certainly does pay big dividends. I can see your son is one of these! I have a similar situation on my hands here with mine as well. He started High School this year and immediately joined the JR-ROTC program and now says he wants to preview military colleges.

Please make sure to THANK your son for his service from my family and he is now on our prayer list as well!

Best,
Anthony

OK then Guys & Gals,

Howz about my custom Stek double edged fighter with 7.5 inch basket weave Damascus blade that is razor sharp.. The guard and pommel are also Damascus. The handle is round stock (he, he, haw, :D )Oosik and is cured to a gorgeous Maple brown color that was found in the perma frost of Alaska. The spacers are black buffalo horn, jade, red jet and nickle silver.

Whew! Be still my heart!!! What a great knife Anthony!!! That's way out of my means. It is clear, beyond a shadow of doubt, that I had better stay away from this thread. The knives in here are far outside of "your good old basic fixed blades"...

Vince, that Billy Watson is sophistication merged perfectly with understated elegance. No garishness. Every line is just what is needed and no more. Just beautiful. Thanks! Do you need my mailing address?:D

When he sees you carrying and using that knife over and over it will really touch him and carry so much meaning or him. And of for you each time you look at or pull it out. That's what really makes traditional knives so special.

Good on both of ya. That boy done good!

Oh, and that is a sweet old classic. I really love the handle on that. If someone did it up on their own then it means they cared enough about that knife to make it special to them. Makes you wish it could talk.

Vince, that is one lovely little knife there! Now you need a maple stocked longrifle with matching wire inlay, or maybe a nice Hawken.

Much Obliged for the comments here, Amos!. The kid is a chip off the old block in one sense(knives :)) and is so much, much more when it comes to measuring good character, integrity, wisdom and other fine attributes..

I have been carrying her in the field for the last week or so while I was Hog hunting and I am pleased to say that you are right on the mark with your predictions.

BTW, I am so pleased to see you back here, pard! I sure do hope you hang about with us in here in 2011!

There's a nice old soldier! . . .

Yes-s-s-s-sir Ebbtide!! A very nice soldier for sure!!..

.. That is one fine neighbor you've got there Steve-O!! I love those vintage Craftsman stickers with the ultra cool Red Bakelite furniture.. I cannot remember the actual model of those sheath knives at the moment but they are great knives made by either Camillus or Schrade... But either or, she is a keeper regardless. NICE pickup, Steve. :)

Even though the inlay pattern is a bit wierd to me it still adds alot to what would normally be a generic knife. Nice!
