Let's see your good old basic fixed blades, Bowie's, Stickers, etc.

Here is a new pattern drop point by Rick

I think it is a camp knife pattern,of Tony's. The knife is a rare Dowell. Bret told me flat out that he doubted he'd ever build another, alot of grinding!

Thanks for the clarification Vince.

I appreciate the nice comments from all. I am quite happy with this one. I won't say you guys were all asleep when this one was available but...:p

Picked up this Sheffield-made Green River/Dadley/Kephart pattern. About as basic as it gets. Some idiot made a mess of the edge with a grinder, but hopefully it'll sharpen up OK. Sorry about the poor pics.

Hello Brad. I really like the looks of your Dowell fighter knife. It has a very desirable blade shape. Your Bose paring knife in what looks like ebony is very nice as well.

Hello Jack. How long is that Kephart knife?

Old, new? CS SS? Clue as to the maker?

Love it!

Thanks :) Carbon. Not new. Any number of small Sheffield cutlers have made this simple pattern, so I wouldn't even hazard a guess as to the maker.

Sorry Nathan, I should have included something for scale. Blade's a fraction under 6", 10" overall.

Very cool piece, Jack!! The sheath looks like its from another knife. An old traders style would look real nice on it.!!

Thanks my friend. Yes, the sheath (embossed 'Made in Sheffield') doesn't look like it was designed for this knife, though that's not to say it isn't the original sheath! In my experience Sheffield cutlers have rarely paid much attention to sheaths, using any old bit of compressed cardboard or reconstituted leather they could find. Maybe this one will fit that old Woodcraft Knife I got a few months back! :D

Inspired by Jack Black's turnip chopper, here's a "Best Beet Topper" and a cheese knife, according to the guy I bought it from. Sorry you can't see the little ones, it's been dark around here. I've seen a few of these cast black plastic checkered handles and no name. The bottom one is a Hammer brand, with a hammer sheath.

I don't know where in cheese-making you'd need a knife like that big one, but it does have a broad, shallow groove like blacksmiths make with a "cheese fuller", so who knows.

It could be a cheese knife the local carnicería here has rounds of cheese that are two feet across and a foot thick. So could be possible
