Let's see your good old basic fixed blades, Bowie's, Stickers, etc.

Gorgeous knife and pic FES! I really need to re-shoot some stuff instead of recycling old pics.

They are a versatile design, fit my hand well but haven't accompanied me hunting yet.

Cold Steel Finn Bear- excellent cost/quality/practicality ratio; good sheath, needs a little aftercare.

My daughter bought me this little Marbles USA sheath knife after the fire to help restart my collection. I carried it around so much that it got a little loose in the sheath but tying a knotted leather ring on it snugged it right up.

-You're blessed, if I could choose my relatives I'd choose her.

FWIW I've tightened up friction-style sheaths* like that by gluing a piece of leather inside them.

*to me by far the most practical type.

Thanks for the tip bro!

Your Finn Bear brought back good memories. I lost a Tapio Wirkkala Puukko in that same fire. Lynn Thompson was quoted saying that he based the Cold Steel Finn Bear and Sisu knives on that Tapio Wirkkala design...

Here's what's left of mine.....I'll do something with it someday.

I'd not heard that, but it sure looks like it. I was just noticing the similarity.

You're welcome ;)

I'm reminded by your photo I have a PAL 35 Mk1 missing leather washers on the handle, I'd like to give it a try with some micarta slabs as a replacement.

Wow!

Btw, gonna have to buy some of those nice British knives so I can use my pre-decimal commonwealth coin collection in pics!

Thanks. Look forward to the pics  :D

This is one made by Bret Dowell. It is based on a Tony Bose Fighter pattern as I recall. 10 1/2" OAL, D2, super grinds, tapered tang, exhibition grade Desert Ironwood…..All the bells and whistles and a fine Parson's scabbard. This is one that made it to the keeper pile!

Fighter, yes, but that blade looks to me like it could do just about anything! Very, very nice.

THAT Mr Brad...is as sexy as a knife can get - wow...what a beautiful knife!

I was lucky to pick this up, as much as I have tried finding out about these knives, I have only heard the same whisper for the last 5 years in one sentence... this is a CAM III knife-Seki Japan, and like any Seki Vintage-its one very seriously made knife, Tapered Tang, Lovely Mircata with red liners - developed by Charles Arthur Mahon III - hence the CAM III.
I used to own MANY fixed blades, but only possibly 8 or so now - this one joins my keepers, a hard to get knife, I really like this one!

Absolutely stunning Brad, a great piece of work

NICE Duncan! :)

I think it is a camp knife pattern,of Tony's. The knife is a rare Dowell. Bret told me flat out that he doubted he'd ever build another, alot of grinding!
