Let's see your Maxped Fatboy Jumbos

Oh I see now.I kinda thought it was another attachment point for another small add on bag/pouch which I guess you could but yeah I didnt even notice the matching velcro strip on the outside of the bottle holder because there is velcro all over this thing, very nice indeed.I just love it and havent put anything in it yet but put my kershaw blur in 3 really good spots around the bag.It gets really small when cinched down flat too.Killer bag!!!!My wife was a little annoyed @ the money I spent on it but then I took her to the Maxped site and she loved the Mongo versapack hehehe!!!DN

Any of you guys prefer the "Fatboy" over the "Jumbo"? I tried on both and think the "Jumbo" is too big for EDC.

It might depend on one's body-size and how much one's used to carrying.

My Jumbo's getting small, thinking of getting the Mongo

Also depends on if you want to carry a water bottle all day or not.

The Jumbo seems to be a great modern "possibles" bag for the woods, but a bit of a pain for EDC.

Others may disagree, but I think if you were carrying more than a Jumbo can handle, you'll probably be better off adding another strap and just using a backpack.

I've got a standard Versi, but since the Jumbo's came out, that's all I've carried. The other hangs in my closet. Just find the extra room is nice, even if the bag isn't packed full.

As a photographer, I hate having to find a place to stop - Take off pack and set it down.

With a Versipak, I just swing it around to the front, grab a lens (or water or whatever) and just swing it back to the side while on the go.

Oh I think the Jumbo would be a fantastic woods bag, but little too big for edc.

I'm 6'5" about 215. you'd think itd fit me alright but it was just a bit too big.

The Jumbo is one of those bags that holds a lot of gear and for that reason it CAN be a little big. I used to put mine in and out of the car every day and I'll admit it got a little old. Since then I've just went with a GHB that I keep in the car most all the time.

Mon. - thru - Fri. my Jumbo stays in the work truck. Sat. & Sun. I throw it in the wife's compact (great mileage). So I don't handle it but twice a week ~;-)

Foliage Orange.

Nice bright color there.

The blue actually looked pretty good as well. I do like tan or OD, but I guess they look a lot more "tactical" and draw more attention than a bright bag would.

These bags are super looking, you guys carry a lot of stuff. I noticed some people carry extra knives, I carry 2, one knife inside my Osprey Aether Pack 70 liters when hiking and one swiss army knife in my cargo pocket. I hate being separated from my main gear after setting up base camp, so these bags make perfect sense. Nice job guys.

texastony,

I like you set up.

I have the jumbo khaki. However, it is not as set up as yours. Your set up has given me some ideas as well as some of the other pictures in this thread.

Thanks,

reason I bumped thread alot of info on here for those who may of missed this thread.
Thanks !

Thanks Tony. It seems like quite a few folks like the Jumbo! Hopefully one of these days I can find time to actually set mine up. For some reason, I'm tactie dumb. I follow Maxped's instructions (I think) but the pouch/pouches I try to attach flop around. I may have to search for and order some malice clips.
