Let's see your Maxped Fatboy Jumbos

Thanks Tony. It seems like quite a few folks like the Jumbo! Hopefully one of these days I can find time to actually set mine up. For some reason, I'm tactie dumb. I follow Maxped's instructions (I think) but the pouch/pouches I try to attach flop around. I may have to search for and order some malice clips.

Why don't you post up some pics, we can help ya out with the pouches, that's what the forum is for, some of us have LOTS of experience with MOLLE.

Why I didn't think of this myself, I'll never know. LOL

I'll try to get some pics tonight or tomorrow and get them posted up.

I just ordered a black jumbo EDC from LA Police Gear, can't wait to get it... I've had an original non-jumbo for years in khaki and it's been a wonderful EDC bag but it's actually a little small...

anyone attached the rat/esee kit to their jumbo?

If you're talking about strapping the RAT Kit, ie. RC-5/6 with the survival pouch, I would think that would be cumbersome. I belive the whole idea of the RAT Kit is to be used by itself, versus piggy backing it to another kit. If you plan on strapping it to something, I would think a backpack would be more ideal.

The photo below shows a picture of a pocket being used to hold a RC-3. The pic isn't mine, it is one that RatDrall posted.

The Jumbo even comes with an RC-3 pocket!

How much gear can COMFORTABLY carried?
I'm looking at either a Falcon or jumbo and can't decide. Mine mostly will be "possibles"/ edc/ get home / keep my sh!t organized. What do you guys keep in yours? My gear will fit in a surplus butt pack with alittle spill over into a smaller pouch. But would like to get a bigger pack for winter trips(snugpak rocket possibly)

My bugout bag is a Falcon II, the Get Home Bag that I keep in the car on short trips is a Jumbo:

I ended up just using a couple of molle locks to put it on. I'll figure them dang blasted tac ties out one of these days.

Now, I still (after talking about it for a year probably) need to get off my butt, get my gear together and pack this thing up.

Busy life = sux! (sometimes) :(

LOL, if you can't beat it, replace it! We are always here, and as for getting it together, I make small goals in my head that way when I go to pack it I just pack some at a time try not to get it all done at once if I don't have time. If you rush it, you do a crappy job and you will pay for it later.

thanks adaman. yeah it looks sorta hulky but might work. might be too much... thats one big honking blade. appreciate ya taking the time to attach and do the pix. reckon i just need to relax, drink more beer and those derned bags/knife will be here fore i know it.

Good advice!!

ok well the jumbo fatboy came in yesterday(didnt even touch it-mardi gras ya know...). anyhoos i must edc way too much stuff cuz it's packed with no room to spare. couldnt use it as a carryon on a plane ride as theres no room for snacks or ipod at this point. of course there are a cupla items id remove before boarding a plane(like the hest and multitool etc that have blades on em)nevertheless its too small! so reckon will have to trade it in on the mongo...

Almost done pimping mine out...should have pics up next week.

Traded my wife into one after she saw mine...we call it her tactical diaper bag.

Could some body post a jumbo on them loaded up but with no extra pouches on it. And could you post the pic with you wearing it? I'm a small build 5, 10" and 130 pounds.
Thanks.

That color combo with the blue and grey is BAD ASS.

Here's my current setup. The Janus extension is just a perfect idea. The Izula fits great into the velcro loop of the shoulder pad. I've got an RC3 in the carry pocket, the RC4 very plainly locked to the side, and a Kershaw blur slipped into a slide pocket in the back. That's an M2 on the front side, and I have an M1 I'm trying to work into the mix as an FAK. I added a lanyard to the slide pocket for easier draw.

I have a few other pouches I could put on the backside, but the problem was they got in the way of the concealed zip pocket. I might try something smaller there, but for right now I don't really need the room. I had a shotshell holder on the front of the janus, but removed it. I've decided to make this an EDC bag, and I'll be picking up a black one to use as a full out go bag. That'll get all the ammo bits and probably an rc5/6 on the side.

(and yes, the janus isn't exactly setup right in this photo. opps. belt is currently run under the other side of the pack. )

Ok, here it is. My tactical toddler support system.
IMG_1615.jpg

Medical kit in the side pocket that includes a ton of minutia and Quik Klot, a couple of glow sticks, Buck Smidgen for scalpel duties, and a small diamond stone. I basically stripped apart a huge first aid kit to the necessary items and crammed them in here.

As you can see I replaced all of the zipper pulls with 550 woven pulls so gloves would never be an issue in our climate. That comes up a lot.

The lower pocket on the flap has a lighter, some quick access band aids, burn cream and immodium (the greatest medical advance in the last century).
IMG_1619.jpg

The top pocket has the mini SAS survival guide and fire starting gear with fuel.
IMG_1620.jpg

The small pocket where the strap attaches to the bag houses a Stinger on a piece of 550 cord that is attached to the grimlock so it is somewhat easy to access.
IMG_1621.jpg

The pull on the CCW pocket is about a 7" cobra stitch that spirals with a plastic bead at the end so it is unmistakable for any other pull and very easy to access.
IMG_1623.jpg

My trusty SA .40 4" easily fits in the CCW pocket and I don't even feel it.
IMG_1625.jpg

My Class III wipes and Diaper compartment for hazardous cleanups. I also have a few other medical things such as gauze pads in here. I still have a TON of room in here for other things (snacks, other supplies, etc...)
IMG_1626.jpg

It took a bit of doing but I managed to fit 2 extra mags in here as well as an extra AAA battery for my Maratac and my Gen 1 FRN Delica...again...still have room if I need it.
IMG_1627.jpg

And lastly, here you can see my maratac secured by the grimlock and cord wrapped for a better grip. It fits perfectly into the molle strap...the light of my life next to the light of the world...WWJS? Hope some of you found this helpful.
