Let's see your Scout/Camp knives

This is an odd one. I've only ever seen two of these. The first one I saw was the first knife I ever owned. My dad helped me pick it out when I was a kid, in Cambridge New York. That knife gave me the only bad cut I've ever received from a knife. I learned quickly, I guess. The pictures below show the second one. I found it on auction a couple years ago, after diligently searching for over 15 years.

Most every Imperial-manufactured Diamond Edge scout is a shell knife. This one is much nicer. Sometimes I almost wonder if only two of these were ever made, and I've held them both.

Thanks for appreciating my Scouts, Buzz.
And that Imperial is a killer knife!! It's a beauty!!
I like the elongated Diamond shield as well as the rest of the knife!!

Wow. It's like the knives get better and better, the deeper you dig!!!!

That's a very unique combination tool, on the Girl Scout knife.

I agree Buzz, I love it just how each time we talk about a knife - Charlie will go-
'here's an example..." and every time is a superb example at that!

Thank you Charlie and Buzz, I especially have enjoyed your conversation on this Scout Thread and it has inspired me greatly!

Ha ha! I never set out to collect Scout knives, but I never could pass up a deal on a good one either! Over the years they have been under-appreciated, but they certainly occupy a big place in the lives and hearts of people over the last century or so!
That said;
Made by Utica for WARD's, here's one with the "lightning" punch, and a weird canopener -

And next is a Camillus "Sword Brand". It has a four-line stamp on the back of the main as well as the crossed swords on the front, and oddly, a punch that looks like a Robeson!

Again, two wonderful unused examples, incredible, theres no mistaking Utica's Punch.
Such gorgeous Bone- on both!

This is my favorite thread on my favorite forum. I do have to give credit to Buzz for showing his saw scouts, another favorite thread, cause it got me to look those guys up. I am still educating myself on the world of scouts and it is great to see the ones saved from some bin somewhere and appreciated.
Here are couple more 5 blade deluxe scouts. the Camillus has a small philips screw driver. the Imperial one is the same size as a cub scout, as is the Crossman, which I think was made by Camillus.

Nice scouts, Steve!!
Those sculptural shields on the "real" scouts are so nice. I dare say someone could start a thread about three-dimensional shields; maybe including 3-D bolsters as well?
Thanks for posting them!

Some of you Remington guys might recognize this "surveyor" pattern. Not too common, it is, for all the world, a "professional scout" knife to my eye! Slant bolsters, and a graceful "bump" in the handles, it carries that Remington bone quite nicely!
I sold this knife almost 2 years ago, and traded back for it today!!
Worn but wonderful, I will carry it with pride for Sunday!!

That is such a great knife Charlie, you do have a knack for finding, and in this case re-finding some rare treasures.

Thanks P&G - glad you like it!! I'm carrying it today, but I had to sharpen it first!
I also had to file in the choil. Now I am no pro sharpener, especially freehand, but this one worked well and quickly!!
Lucked out!!
As a result it's no slouch on paper slicing, and I am proud to carry it!!

That's a great trio of scouts!!! How do you like your Crosman? I picked one up from auction, really liking the size and features. I had really high hopes for it. Unfortunately, mine was pretty bad in both fit and finish. I always thought they were made by Camillus, but after looking at the awl, mine looks to be made by Utica...... on a very bad day. I'm so bummed.

It doesn't get much more uncommon than that! Here's a cattle knife sibling in a 1924 ad...

Thanks for that Advert, Jake!
I can't quite read the pattern number . . . .can you post it?

It's R3033. The three blade is R3003 (catalog cut shown below). Unfortunately, I don't have a catalog example of the camp knife.

I have a copy of Remington catalog #1, and can't find a camp or scout in it.
Maybe they were non-catalog items??
Thanks for the numbers!!
