Let's see your Scout/Camp knives

Here is a group shot of my scout family. On the left side top to bottom, the lost Case Scout Jr., a delrin Case 640045R, a redbone Case 6445R, and the Camillus .30-06 saw scout. On the right side from top to bottom, an Ulster WWII 10th Mountain Division knife, an Ulster Scout with the badge shaped "Be Prepared" shield, das Boker Sportmesser mit der rabenschwarz Kunststoff messerhefte (I cheated, don't speak German),and the Pal scout that belonged to my maternal grandfather. He died in 1954 at only 47 years old, 11 years before I was born. It was bad rusty, had weak springs, and I couldn't risk the loss of something like this one, so I never carry or use it. I wish my grandfather had lived to give it me personally, instead of finding it badly rusted in an old dresser drawer in the barn. It has steel liners and bolsters, and it was frozen shut because of the rust.

Nice family of Scouts, Phil!! You have some good ones there!!

That C4 is very cool! Is it a 3 spring???

Yes it is. One thin spring for the wood saw. One wide spring for both the spear and the sheepsfoot. And one thin spring for both the cap lifter/flathead and the philips. Steel pivot pins. Nickel silver bolsters. Brass liners.

That's a prime scout collection. The 10th Mountain Division knife is stunning beyond belief. Truly a treasure to behold.

I was never a scout, but the equal end frame with multiple use tools has to be my favorite. I love the white Delrin. All of these I believe were made by Camillus, although some are marked Ulster or Imperial. Really like the smooth white delrin on the 5 blade deluxe.

Awesome white scouts. They're becoming increasing hard to find in good condition. That smooth white is fantastic looking. Great find!!!

Nice white collection, Steve!
I hardly ever see one - looks like diligent collecting to me!!;)

Here is an odd one! It is an Ulster with a crooked shield!
I have had several collectors and knife mechanics look at it, and everyone agrees it is in original condition. The blade is clearly etched under the patina,

The blades are full and virtually unused.
If the shield was marked, it has no marks visible, but it is crooked, and the tip is chipped.
Factory second???
Nice fat blade for you, Glennbad!!

I just cannot believe how these STUNNERS keep simply " popping up"
I would go mental finding such an amazing example..........

Charlie Sir- please keep Glenn away from this one- lol - it's so deserving to leave this amazing knife as it is.

Please- pass the popcorn son....,

I can't quite zoom in on the first picture enough. Is the shield actually scribed around the shape of the chip? It looks like it in that picture.

Cell phone magnification of "chip". It looks like the shield was polished thin, and the metal came apart. the chip area rides slightly above the bone. All in all a poor shield installation.

The shield has not been sharpened on this one!:p
