Let's see your Striders!!!!!!

I agree, man. I want to keep this thread just about the knives. I'd like to add that on my Sng, the s30v sharpens really well on the wicked edge making it even cooler than stock.

These today...

Yeah man, the nice polished edge you get with a wicked edge looks real nice on them. And the generally great heat treatment does result in one of the nicest s30v's I've ever enjoyed.

I don't have this DB anymore, but it was definitely a fun one:

Here are some old collection photos and past customs. Most have moved on to other homes, a few I still own.

I am married to the best wife in the world and also have the best daughter.

Best in "my" world anyway.. They both said I could get a Strider, so I ordered an SNG CC. And let me just say.. Holy Moly are they hard to find!! I wasn't sure if I wanted to go with the 3.5" SNG or "full bore" 4" blade on the SMF. If the SNG comes in and feels good in the hand and I decide to keep it (which I'm 99% sure I will) I will post it back over here.

Now I'm left to wonder how many other Strider Knives were sold due to this crazy awesome thread? Let's keep those beautiful Strider pics coming!

I would have told you to go SMF.
This is just my personal opinion, but you lose so much blade because of the choil that there's just not enough blade left on an SnG. (It might be perfect for you, and I hope it is)

The huge choil is an integral part of making the knife what it is, but you should measure the blade length you have left minus the choil....

Post some pics when you get it, and let me know if the actual amount of edge you have is enough for you (never worked well for me)...not trying to rain on a parade, and also congrats!

I replied to you in my re-grind thread, please PM me if there is anything you want to ask, I would be more than happy to help....

Ha Ha.. No raining on this parade. A Strider will be mine one way or the other! :)

I own some knives in a 4" blade and some in a 3.5". And my preference is different for each size depending the knife. But like you say that Choil will be the determining factor here. When I looked, there were only 2 SMF's that I like for sale in all my google searches.

Now I have to ask myself; do I go ahead and pull the trigger on an SMF too along with my already ordered SnG and just plan on sending one back? That way the SMF I want won't be sold out by next week, if I do decide to go that route. Hmmm...

Thanks so much for the info, I really appreciate it.

You will probably want one of each. SnG's are sweet. There truthfully isn't a lot of difference in blade length between the two.
