I just got this yesterday: Case XX 62024 1/2 (1958-1964)

I really like the patriot kirinite that case uses.

I've thought about getting a 6375 in patriot to be my official 4th of july knife. The russlock is for now, but it only has one blade, so I have to carry another knife with it.

My first Case xx arrived and I must say it’s exceeded my expectations by a margin . Fit and finish is outstanding !
Blades centered nicely with no blade rub. No liner gaps what so ever , pins nicely nestled in and matching on both sides . The shield is seated perfectly and action is very good with a nice snap on both blades with a sweet pull around 6 . Blades are sharp but not razor sharp but acceptable out of the box and nothing some love on a leather strop block with some green or black compound or maybe a light touch up on my edge pro can take care of .
This is an outstanding value that I feel is on par or above in some areas with a higher price point . The canoe pattern feels really good hand to .The end caps are a thing of beauty .
Very very happy with this one and now I’m really looking forward to my single blade Barlow Case xx order to Come in .
I think I’ve just found a new love and go to traditional knife , Case did a beautiful job in this one

Thanks guys. I have too many of these lockbacks but that pakkawood is near mint. It’s a great pattern and not that hard to acquire either.

Got this one on the mail this morning.

The clip seems to me that it has been reshaped. There is some rough swedging that looks wrong and looks to have been done with a grinder. Does anyone have a similar example to compare?
Overall its in nice shape, great snap on both blades and the walk and talk should be nice when I get the gunk and rust cleaned out.

Great pick-up. I think of the chestnut bone as sort of the gold standard for the Case Sowbelly.

The clip looks to be a little short, but the reshaping looks pretty good. That old bottom X will sharpen up and be a dandy one to carry.

I thought as much, the length looks out of proportion with the handle. Both blades also seem to have been sharpened quite a bit, but still plenty of life left in them. I put new edges on and it took quite a fine edge. I dont know what steel Case used back then, but this feels different than their current CV, and I like it.

It was the one I wanted because I hate stainless! The Chestnut does have great color as well.

Welcome to the world of Case. There will be some bumps along the road but for the most part, I think youll be pleased with them.

May I ask you to post a picture of the backside, so that the springs are visible?
The blades of the older models I have are running all on one backspring.

1999 Case Mini-Copperlock in saw cut bone. The cut, jigging and coloration of the bone is simply extraordinary on this knife.
