Thanks G man, three great things going on with your knife there, scrimshaw, fishing motif and a stockman. I like em all:cool::thumbup:

Here is a peanut. My very first traditional and I'm glad to have started off with a Case.

Work has basically kept me off The Porch for almost a week, and this is one thread that moves slow enough that I can actually sort of "catch up" here!

....

Harry
Impressive set of Rogers walnut jigged Cases, Harry; congrats!!

Case Mini Trapper 7012, just bought it today and I'm showing it off anywhere and everywhere I can! Lol

Great-looking mini trapper, DTY! Is that the chestnut jigged bone model? I have several knives from that series, and the chestnut jigged CV mini trapper is high on my list of "must have" knives.

I just picked this one up off the exchange here a few days back, a nice 6.5 bonestag humpback stockman from 2010.

That's a handsome bone stag humpback stockman, Jeff! (The color and texture of the bone stag, especially on the pile side, make me think of a grilled fish filet - that's a GOOD thing! :D)

I posted this one in the EDC thread and forgot to post here.

A CASE 1920-1940 EZ open Jack. Beautiful dark brown bown but with a patch on the mark side by the EO notch. Aside from it's beauty mark the blades are SOLID. The pen has been reprofiled considerably yet the main Spear is near full.

The covers reflect use as its so smooth in hand. Just a Solid yet slim knife. A great knife to carry:cool::thumbup:

Congrats on finding that killer Case EO teardrop, Paul!! What a sublime example of a highly desirable pattern!!

I think this contains all of my Case knives (with the exception of one fixed blade).

That's a classy, compelling, collection of Cases, Shawn! The dye job you did on your beer trapper is gorgeous! What's the blueish knife 3rd from the right in the bottom row? Looks like a peanut frame with trapper blades???

Looks like you like Peanuts even more than I like Sowbellies :D

Sensational sextet of sowbellies, Mike!:thumbup:

Here's a circa 1920-1940 CASE Pruner with the best looking indian trial, jigged bone covers I've ever owned. SOLID, near full blade, steel liners and amazing Snap:thumbup:

Holy Cow! That pruner has unbelievable covers, Paul!!:thumbup: You're coming up with quite an amazing bunch of hawkbills lately, IIRC!!

That's a stellar fisherman's stockman, Dave!:cool: I like the way they worked the shield into the artwork. Do you have a photo of that one closed?

nyng, that's a classic first traditional!! What does Case call the covers on that one? I really admire both the color and the jigging you've got on your peanut! And, welcome to The Porch! :)

That's a bummer about work, GT! Thanks for the compliments, my friend.

That is indeed a Peanut frame with Trapper blades, comically named the Trapper Nut. This example is Case's "Grey Bone", which is advertised as this:

However, mine looks like this:

I have no photo to add to this. I've posted the photos of my newer Case before. But, I had an old Barlow with saw cut brown bone handles for years! I mean decades. I mucked it up on the grinder but not so bad it couldn't be fixed.

I can't find it! I am sure it was in one of my small toolboxes. I can't find it! :o

If anybody knows where it might be, please post.

Thanks for the info, Shawn. Is that Trapper Nut a bit smaller than a mini trapper?
I kinda like the blue of your trapper nut, but if you're expecting grey, I imagine it's a disappointment.
As many have pointed out in the "Case Quality Control" thread, Case has had some significant bone dyeing issues recently!

The Trappernut is definitely smaller than the Mini Trapper. It is, however, a little bigger than the Tiny Trapper.

It is right where you left it James . And it is in the last place you will look for it .

That's what I'm afraid of and how long will it take me to get to that last place?

In the meantime, I have this not so old, but very scratched up guy.

Just have to like that Copperlock Alan . Looks like you did a nice job on the sharpening too.

Thanks for the additional photo, Dave. That's a stockman model with the sunk joints, right? I really like the smooth profile it has.

Yes sir.

POETOMMY16, that probably won't be the last time you cut yourself. Just try not to make it a habit. Oh, and that's a nice looking Case knife you have there.
