Let's talk about the latest Northwoods buying process

I click through a few pages, clicked on a few specific versions, but wasn't planning to buy any of those this time around, so I just kept refreshing and watched the page count go from 7 to 5 and then 2 and then they were all gone in minutes. I also had enough time to see some of the stag (2 pages) and the other micarta versions before they all sold out. I can't say whether I would have had enough time to get either mammoth or stag into my cart and purchased before someone else, though.

I don't have any answers about how to change the process so more folks have a chance to get one; just sharing my experience and my tactic, such as it was.

I didn't even hear about this one somehow haha I have been getting their emails but don't think I did for this run. Looking forward to seeing them.
 
Wish I knew about the drop. Fremont is my favorite pattern.
To make me feel better I just got a Fayette Jack in denim on eBay :) if anyone prefers the fayette that was able to get a Fremont let me know!!

I figured that getting a Northwoods was going to be a long term project, so about a week ago I took your path and was also able to get a Blue Denim Fayette from EBay. I love it. Such a cool knife. I researched the Freemont and want that one too. I don’t mind paying reasonable secondary prices, but not predatory prices. It’s just going to take some time. Good luck to you.

Yeah, I didn't care for any of the Fremonts that were dropped in the past few days so I just watched, but as usual they all went within 5 minutes of being posted.
 
I got mine for 140 with red linen micarta. The market is flooded with them right now, so the price on the secondary is all over but can still get a really good price for one.
 
I'm back on bladeforums after a bit of a hiatus. I was looking for a Northwoods Freemont after seeing a pic of one, so I went to KSF and no luck. I googled, trying to get one elsewhere and saw from Knife Collector that I had just missed the drop. Man I was down about missing it by what I thought was a week. Come to find out they sell within minutes! So, thanks to this thread I will be ready for the next drop.

And I just picked one up on the exchange due to arrive tomorrow. My first Northwoods! It's good to be back here.

I would love to be able to snag that new orange tint brown burlap bear...nice color. I’m sure that and the new bone will go in the first 2 seconds, then the rest in the remaining 3 seconds. I suspect the whole run will sell out in a total of 5 seconds...☹️
 
Success! AlwaysTomboy's tip on how to 'fast buy' was the difference in me snagging a Bear Lake. They sold out of everything in about 5 minutes. Crazy.

It's ok for browsing. Leisurely. But other than that its slow and clunky and a downgrade imo.

Gotta agree with you on the website redesign. I find it very clunky and awkward compared to the old one, making a somewhat stressful process even worse, haha.

Complaining aside, I still managed to get checked out with a red one, so I am stoked!

I couldn't say for sure, but it took me 3 to 4 min to check out, and I know the last burlap I saw was out of stock when I clicked on it at about 8 minutes after 3.

I would guess if you weren't checking out by 3:05 you were probably out of luck.
