From this barrel... I"m not sure about the exact number, I think around 100 made. They did a run of non charred oak and the same time.

Thanks for sharing! That is cool that there's a picture of the original barrel used. Wish I would've got in on these. The nice thing is that I can look at great pictures and it doesn't cost me any money! lol

Boy oh boy, 1000 pages! Apparently we love talking about GEC :D

I'll be doing a GAW tonight when I get off work. I'll random number the posts before this one and find a winner. Thanks for all the great convo over the years everyone :)

Josh covered my first GEC. This pic covers an old and new favorite :)

My first GEC...I had seen photo's of them here and there, and was becoming interested in the brand. I saw a post by MT Damascus, ( Kris ) and said what a beautiful knife, and it was bladed with 440C steel, I quoted his post and praised the knife stating that I was now on the hunt for that very knife. LOL, he knew my hunt would be futile...and he reached out to me and offered to gift the knife to me...so now, it is a happy reminder of a past prolific poster here, who has an awesome collection of exemplary knives, who showed me an epic act of generosity and kindness.

That act led me down a path of acquiring a decent pile of Titusville steel to use and admire :)
