Lets talk GEC!

Is this the "hotdog" shield? Lol

Maybe this is actually a plan they are testing. Selling knives IKEA style. They sell you a knife that’s not quite finished. You save a few bucks AND you get the fun of having a project to work on for the afternoon. :D
I can see it now, one page of directions with that little illustrated guy, a bunch of parts, couple little pieces of sandpaper, itty bitty one time use tube of oil, Allen wrench....

It's confusing to me that they would just now be making these lookout jacks on the 23 frame. Wouldn't it be easier to make them in parallel with the 23 run? When all the tooling is set up? I don't know much about it.

My theory is that they have been busy making the TC 15s. And that's why we haven't seen an updated schedule. Or maybe both the NW and the TCs?

They are also currently making the rest of the 23 run that was not completed earlier last year. Namely, the Redtail LLs. So, it isn't a stretch to think that they are tacking the new Northwoods onto that.

You dont want a 2.5 lb sabergrind?

I like my 23s, I think they are some of the more nicely built GECs to come out of 2020 but the one thing that has the most appeal to me is how thinly ground the blades are - a NW (if they did indeed do their iconic saber grind) would certainly remove what gives the 23 its allure.

If it is a saber grind it would be a pretty cool piece; if nothing else a cool paper weight or something to bludgeon a robber with if they break in to your house. I picked up one of the mesquite 23s and love the frame, but I think I would be happier as a slip joint rather than a liner lock, perhaps this will be the ticket.
