it is hard to believe GEC has been making knives for so many years now. This is a 2008 stainless 73.
@Will Power , to answer your question from the other thread, the tube describes it as a Prototype Horsecut Antique, 735108. A red P is painted on both ends of the tube. I have no idea how many were made. There are none like this listed in their production totals. They did do a few Elk stainless 73’s that year which were marked as first production. The writing on the tube appears authentic, but it did not come with a certificate. The knife does not appear to have been modified in any way. They were using lots of different colors of horse cut bone back then. Maybe someone here might know more? I am not the original owner. If I ever go to the Rendezvous, I will bring it with me, and find out about this horse cut bone from the horse’s mouth!
Have a great day everyone!

Kudos to you for staying in the rat race...Alright, I’ll start with my sob story regarding the recent drop of 15s (moments ago). I had my phone in my hand when the email came, immediately went to the site added to cart, went to checkout and realized I still had a 23LL from a week or so ago in my cart. By the time I got it out and back to checkout, it was over!Every time there is a drop and I have a shot I make some kind of stupid mistake! At least I haven’t made the same mistake twice, so I’m improving, I’ll succeed someday!

Thanks, but I don’t know if it’s persistence or stupidity that keeps me trying!Kudos to you for staying in the rat race...
Personally, I'm waiting for GEC to figure out that magic ratio of numbers per pattern vs patterns per year.
When it gets to the point that you've got at least 24 hours to buy a GEC knife I'll jump back in...
Until then I get to live vicariously through you folks!

bigfish64 , no no Big Fish, no sob stories please! Just be patient. They seem to be producing larger numbers. TC Barlows are not selling very quickly on the Exchange, and dealers keep listing them. Keep your eyes open. I would not give up hope on a Boy’s Knife. There might be more than you think, and there will certainly be a lot sold on our Exchange. Lots of people just like to check out a new release then sell on the Exchange at a reasonable price. Let’s please not let this thread go back to hand wringing. If you cannot get one, send me a message in a couple weeks.
I find it too pretty not to carryWell, it was good to read that the plan going forward for GEC is to produce higher numbers of each run...
(think I read that a few pages back)
I really see that as the only way to discourage flipping and to achieve Bill's stated goal...
Provide high quality affordable knives for the average person to use as intended.
BUT...
Don't think I'll EVER be able to use my 92 in Goldenrod Camel bone...
Just too dang pretty!

Beautiful coloration of that bone cover...I find it too pretty not to carry
Such a great pattern

Yep, very similar coloration. Pile side is matched well.Beautiful coloration of that bone cover...
Other side (mark side, pile side, I get confused) equally nice?
The patina as well...
Killer!
Got lucky on mine; very similar to yours...

So...It’s rigged I tell ya! It’s rigged !
Haha! This post hits home for me. I think my wife is on to me though, as she has commissioned a knife box to be made for me. I consider myself lucky.I have about 5 knives incoming in the next 5 days. Operation get to the mailbox before the wife has commenced.
You don't even give a hint of what they are?I have about 5 knives incoming in the next 5 days. Operation get to the mailbox before the wife has commenced.

Doesn't matter...
I'm happy for you!
Got the itch for a new blade myself...
As if my recent activity spike wasn't obvious enough to that fact.
