Lets talk GEC!

Just got a mail call from DLT, good action, couple minor spring scratches but this 15 hybrid is not for me, maybe others will like it but I don't. Cocobolo Wood can have white in it but damn this is a hybrid with white wood and should have been listed as multitone. Oh well I'll see if my grandson wants it and if he doesn't it's going in the trash, nah just kidding, I'll do something with it. The worst part is I got double whammed so I lost out twice but one is my fault. When trying to get a 15 Smooth Autumn Bone Barlow, so stressful to check out my mouse hit the wrong 15 and after checkout I realized I got my second choice and not my first, so no Barlow . Senior citizens don't stand a chance today. :D

I haven’t been too interested in the Cocobolo #15’s, but that one’s awesome! :D

that is GORGEOUS. Great wood on that!

The more I look at it the more I'm getting use to it but it's going to a new home. I think what bothers me more this is the 2nd time it's happened to me, I won't mention the other but I'm sorry GEC should have split these up so they could be sold separately as multitone cocobolo/white wood.

COMBS have been causing a stir lately ;) Forced me to consult my venerable The Shorter Oxford Dictionary 2 vols 1933 edn.

Remembering Shakespeare I wanted to look up COXCOMB :D

- Coxcomb 1573 (Cockscomb) 1. A cap worn by a jester, like a cock's comb in shape & colour. 2. A simpleton or idiot (obs.) or a foolish, conceited, showy person, a fop.

The Cambridge Dictionary has a more contemporary meaning A man who is over concerned with his clothes or appearance.

Some Urban Jacks could qualify ;)

I know there are a few out there without, but I feel like the majority of the coco boys knives all have burn marks around the center pin. I can’t imagine they’re using a different process from what they’ve done in the past so it makes me wonder if cocobolo is more susceptible to burning quicker than other woods? I added a shield, but here’s mine...

Nice shield! I looked at mine and I didn’t see any burn marks. Maybe one of the folks on that part of the line got a little overzealous one day :D

Wait, you’re complaining about getting that one!?!?:D

How lucky we were in 2017 to get this one. And people complained about it too.:rolleyes:
It was also $65 (most of them;)) and was done as no profit...

Old and new.
