I was buying GEC knives as they were released back in those days. I can tell you what I ordered around the Nov. 3 , 2007 date. On Nov. 3, I ordered #53 Cuban - Northfield in "Dead skunk" - "Coppertone" - "Cat's cradle", and the Tidioute version in bacote wood(I would assume these must have been made before Nov. 3). On Nov. 10 , I ordered the #53 Cuban - Tidioute version in Chocolate jigged bone. On Nov. 17, I ordered #73EC - in "Smokey pearl" and "Blue oyster". I hope this is some help to you.
Excellent info CC!!!

Trand the boy born in 2010 was born on Sept 3. The boy born in 2007 was on Nov 3rd. Your effort is much appreciated, I almost hate to bring it up.

The younger boy (2010), according to GEC's website falls right between the end of the 53 run and just before the 48 run, and your COA proves that the Antique Walnut was released on the 8th. The investigation continues......Thanks to all.
No problem, helping is as fun as collecting the knives :)

I wonder how that jigged acrylic will hold up. I do like the smooth acrylic look but if you're using that knife on fish, jigged is probably better. I must have missed it but are these in 420HC or 440C? I have a pair of the #65 FFFs (Farm, Field, and Fish) and they're in 420HC.

Thanks to "Classic Case & 2Dead" one of the boys is covered, and actually the one that I thought was going to be the most difficult. November 3rd, 2007. #53 Cuban Chocolate Jigged Bone.

I'll take opinions on the younger boy, 9/3/10. In between the 53 run and the 48 run. Should I go with a search for the 48, or pick up a 53 from that run. Does anyone have the SFO's from the 53 run? A date would prove that they were run on the front end or back end.

Thanks to All!

I would search for both. I personally like the 48 more, but sticking with a 53 would give both your boys one. Glad you were able to find one!

Good point Brett. If I lean toward the 53 for the younger boy, both boys b-day knives would be 53's just 3 years apart in production. Great thought!

I see a #53 cattle rancher, in stag, on some big auction site, that has a cert. dated Sept. 01 ,2010. I hope this helps.

I have asked an owner of the "Ulster" version if he has a COA. Hoping he has a date.

I now know for sure they were running 53's on 9/3/10.
I have the knife "Classic Case" specified above and the Yellow Rose "Cattle Baron" on 9/1/10 and then the Yellow Rose "Cattle Rancher" on 9/7/10.
So if they were running Yellow Rose on the 1st in a four blade, and then on the 7th they went to the three blade, do you suppose they ran the Yellow Rose versions back-to-back? If so, I'll have to find a Yellow Rose Cattle Baron. Sound Correct???
