Lets talk GEC!

My dog loved it when I used the comb on him last night! He was rolling around the floor so I could get his belly and then pawing at my pocket and begging for more when I put it away.

He’s adorable! What a good use for the pocket comb.

GEC newby here. When a pattern sells out, such as Beer and Sausage, does GEC ever make a second run?

They do repeat runs sometimes, but it takes a few years to revisit. When they show back up they will have some alteration in either the blade(s) and covers used. They probably won’t just directly re-release a run that sold out.

Thanks man. I really want a Beer and Sausage, but the secondary market is brutal.

Get used to it.:).
Nah, I won't "get used to it". I love collecting, but I'm not stupid enough to pay 3 times the actual value of a mediocre (at best) GEC knife. Matter of fact the Beer and Sausage is basically a novelty knife that's overpriced at the original 108$ price. I really love beer and sausage, so I wanted one as a lark.

I just ordered a Case mini trapper, so it is almost guaranteed that within 2 weeks GEC will be announcing the new GEC mini trapper.
Well.... at least you know you can GET a Case version. In fact, you can probably get several of them for the inflated flipper price of ONE GEC.
I've officially pretty much given up on GEC. Unless I can pre-order one, and get it at original price, I'll do without. Somehow, we've come up with a whole new generation of flippers, who will pay ANY price for a GEC, just because it's a GEC. They have no interest in the knife, or any plans to use it, it's simply a way to make some money.
When you see a brand new model listed for sale two days after the drop, at more than double the original price, sometimes triple, it's time to move on. I cannot compete with the bots and such, to beat the flippers... when a drop sells out literally in SECONDS... nope. And, I never will pay the inflated flipper prices to get one that I want. Never.
Ok... deep breaths.... rant off.

That seems to be the going trend in a whole lot of things, flipping is one thing, the smart phone has also had a hand in higher resale pricing for years, making it harder to find a fair price.

I'm not giving up on GEC, like any market, stay out at the historic high and be ready to buy when things settle down, these things never last forever, with the exception of 100 year old plus pocket knives. :D
Look at how long some have waited to find or buy a brick of 22LR for example.

Markets do have impacts, I'm less likely to EDC a GEC (and others) because they are not replaceable over the value.
The cost means nothing, when you're not able to buy them at all.
